Good fun.

Season 3 very strange.....

I liked Season Three of Strange New Worlds.
Alternated between one "serious" episode then one comedy one.

The writers were not afraid to experiment and try different things using the established characters from the first two seasons as a framework.

Star Trek has become WAY too po-faced and serious in recent years and it's great to see some fun being brought back.

Pretty good

I'm going to watch "Band of Brothers" again.

Powerful stuff.

I’m enjoying “ King and Conquerer “

on BBC I player. Historically all over the place but good nevertheless . Juliet Stephenson giving Lady Mcbeth vibes as Lady Emma and loads of other familiar faces in it too . James Norton rugged and handsome as the lead character . He really needs to be the next James Bond .

Really enjoyed the Pilot last week. Will watch the 2nd episode tonight but looks promising!

Watched episodes 2 and 3 now and loving it. Definitely recommending this. Didn't realise until last night it was made by the same people that did 'Mare of Easttown' with Kate Winslet (another great series btw).

Mo on Netflix

Cracking half hour comedy series about a Palestinian immigrant family in Texas.

Also loving 1883

Sam Elliot “If I see you again I’ll kill you”

to about 8 different people so far.

Also learning to not get attached to anyone in it 😆

Watched the first episode of The Hack on STV last night (makers of Mr Bates and writers of Adolescence).  Pretty strong start.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Black Rabbit on Netflix. I almost gave up in the first 20 minutes but glad I persisted, it’s warming up nicely.

Binged it this week mate ,

Genuinely thought it was brilliant.

Bateman and Law are both excellent- quite heartfelt in places , good humour too

Jude Law was great in it but Bateman stole the show as his unpredictable brother.

Have now watched the first 3.  It's absolutely compelling.  Great performances by the cast.

Atomic on Sky....don't bother. Alfie Allen and Shazad Latif are decent enough in the lead roles, but that's as far as I can give it any credit. Plus, they've clearly put everything into getting a second season, as there is no resolution to the story at all at the end of the first season. Avoid.

It's been surprisingly good considering the fact that they had to very quickly re-write and re-shoot massive parts of this season after one of the lead actors died.

It's still better than The Boys, which became a parody of itself a couple of seasons ago.

The boys is still a decent watch but I agree it’s gone a bit too far up it’s own arse.

Gen v is defo better.

Probably quiet literally in some scenes in the seasons so far!

I'm looking forward to the last season of The Boys and hope they can finish on a high. Haven't watched the second season of Gen V yet, but the first one was good...I wasn't sure if it would be too "teen drama" being set in a school, but I should have known not to worry being from the makers of The Boys

Platonic on Apple TV is good fun, seth Rogen and Rise Byrn have excellent chemistry on camera and are both very funny

Speaking of Seth Rogen, the Studio was tremendously funny but also panic inducing as everything falls apart around him each episode, the "one shot"episode being a particular highlight.

Mobland- 4 episodes in and called Helen Mirrens character being batshit mental and wanting to switch the earth. Tom Hardy excellent but definitely going down the Brando route of mumbling half his lines 😂

The guest on BBC, alright, not as slick or clever as it wants to be, not as tense or bewildering as it needs to be. Fairly well acted, worth a watch but easily forgettable

Blue Lights.

Got through four episodes of the third series on the iPlayer so far. Enjoyable as the first two series with the right balance of action, suspense and characters.

Alien: Earth struggled to keep up with the extremely high standard it set in the first 6 episodes. That said, the last 2 episodes has set it up well for a 2nd series.

Overall, I thought it was a great addition to the Alien franchise.

I recommend Alien: Earth too.

Ahh, didn't realise 2 new episodes had been released. I'll be watching these over the weekend.

Slow Horses off to a decent start in Season 5.

It helps that they've filmed all series pretty much back-to-back so it still feels relatively fresh.

Just kinda wish I hadn't read all the books between seasons 4 and 5. Ruined it for myself.

Peaky Blinders will have 2 new series, after the upcoming movie, which will be sequels following the next generation of Shelbys after WWII.

Talk about flogging a dead horse...

I gave up about 15 minutes into the first episode.  Charlie Hunnans voice was doing my head in

Yeah, i just wish it was more than 6 episodes a series. It's far too short

True. Eight episodes would prevent storylines not being too truncated without needing much filler.

Yeah, the main story could be padded out with some regular cop stuff quite easily.

Can't be as bad as his attempt at an Aussie accent in Shantaram, surely?

I didn't watch much of that either! It's not so much the accent, its the way he speaks in it. It's like a really poor 1970s style attempt at playing someone with learning difficulties.  It's bizarre.

Cold Case (2003)

Set in Philadelphia, a police drama about solving cold cases, obviously.  I've watched the first couple of episodes of the first series and its not too bad. Visually and artistically its really good. It flutters between present day and whichever year the cold case is from. I'm not really explaining it very well but the way its done, especially at the conclusion of each episode is really good. I'm not sure I'll watch too many episodes though.

Started with coldwater starring Rick from the walking dead, trailer drew me in , a kinda who did it murder in a pretty, Scottish location.  Rick brings his family up from London after witnessing a violent incident where he didn't intervene. Anyway it was actually really decent until up pops Jonathan Watson as a psychologist who runs sessions in his lovely wee bungalow lol. I couldn't take it seriously after that point and when the ensemble cast of still game popped up too then I just threw the towel in lol

Just finished Monster Ed Gein on Netflix ( 8 episodes).

This was a horrific but strangely enjoyable watch. Interesting look at what made this particular serial killer.

I didnt realise Hitchcock' s Psycho was based on Ed Gein...Hitchcock features a lot in this series.

Personally felt there was too much ' padding ' and it could have been done well in just 5 or 6 episodes.

Charlie Hunnam is terrific

Just started watching Nero on Netflix. Only watched the 1st episode and already I think I'm addicted to it. It's a French series but you can choose to watch it subbed into English instead if watching it in French with subtitles.

I assume it’s a Ryan Murphy production . He tends to “ pad out” real life stories with inaccuracies and down right false hoods . However I do like Charlie Hunnan. He’s a good actor , but I’ll pass this as I haven’t got Netflix unless a mate lends me his details ..
