Been disappointed by a few yank comedies that were supposed to be good like Community and Parks and Recreation. Portlandia got boring fairly quickly too. Not something you can really watch the first couple of. The humour comes from knowing and relating to the characters. I did 6 seasons in about a month, watching it on my iPhone while cooking, having breakfast, on the bus etc. It's not profound or ground breaking but makes for very comfortable TV with an excellent level of cultural Zeitgeist, parody and self awareness. Frank isn't in the first series and the characters take a while to get up to their most depraved and mental stuff. I'd stick with it.
