I wouldn't class Nickleback as Southern Rock.  I have a different term to describe their music. 💩

Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Kings of Leon, Black Crowes, and ZZ Top are examples commonly associated.

Creedence Clearwater Revival/John Fogerty you might expect too but they were from Dan Francisco so some disagree.

See, i like these bands, some Kings of leon and black Crowes as well to a lesser extent.

So it can't be Southern Rock. There must be another name for that twang.

Trailer trash rock?

The track over the years that has been the big one for sound engineers checking PA systems more than any other is this. Lots of good frequencies to hear what the system can do and something with space in it is better.

I'm a big fan of Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins (who sings Teardrop).

Here she is on Jonsi's (Sigur Ros frontman) latest album:

I don't apologise for posting that video again.

Even Bowie said they were great

Bowie covered Cactus (on Heathen) and Debaser (with Tin Machine).  Tin Machine itself was influenced by Pixies and similar bands.

I guess you are posting that because of the death of Tawny Kitaen aged 59?

Sparks latest effort, a collaboration with Todd Rundgren who produced their debut album 50 years ago.  They were obviously so impressed by Todd that they couldn't wait more than 50 years to work with him again.
