Rubbish Beards

Anyone else part of the Shan Beard Club?

Was away with work last week so I decided to let it grow a bit.

All I ever seem to manage is a blonde/ginger neck beard and a teenager tache. Very disappointing for a 31 year old bloke.

:sob:

Any tips for the terrible beard growers out there?

Nope not a member.

My beard is always full growth, thick and alluring. Unless yer a bursd. They hate it :sob:

Apart from the bursds worth speaking to. I see it as a bit of a filter.

I need to leave my chops untouched for about a month before my beard can pass as acceptable. Wish I had a touch of the Paul Hartley facial hair - shave in the morning, beard by lunch.

Same camp as me at roughly the same age. Haven't given it a proper bash since I was 26 though.

I'm off this week so might give it another try. Actually googled this last night and all the advice was just leave the fugger for the first few weeks and let it grow. Don't ###### about trying to tidy it up too much as you'll only end up taking too much off.

I'm not too bad, a week off shaving and I get a reasonable beard going, I'm not committed enough to keep it going though so it never usually lasts longer than that.

Yep me, Two patches either side of my beak don't quite fill in as much as I'd like. Maybe some dimoxinil would help? Worked for Homer...

My beard is patchy too. I'm in my 30s and it hasn't really changed much over the last decade. I'm just not very hairy in general. Some bursd have hairier arms than me.

I'm pretty sure this means I'm slightly further down the chain of evolution than some of the furry-backed cavemen types that you get.

Beards after 2 weeks get annoying as feck. catch on shirt collars etc. pity too, cos shaving is a pain in the arse.

21 years old.

Can grow the sort of facial hair a 12 year old who's recently hit puberty can.

I can grow a lovely beard.

But I don't because it started to come in pure white when I was still in my 30's, not grey, white. Ditto my chest hair around the same time.

I'm the same. Tried & failed to grow a beard a few times, just resigned mysf to the fact that it just ain't never gonna happen now. :(

Me too. I become officially old next month(40) and still can't grow a beard or even a pair of sideboards. I once done a movember but I had to start in moctober.

I don't have much chest hair, my legs and arms look waxed, but I've got the hairiest arse known to mankind. It could be sold I'm carpet shops for ?69 per square yard

I have a lopsided beard because I shave my head and can never get the beard to match up at the ears, so I dont bother.

I have a dodgy little goatee, had for about ten years now, it gives the appearance of chin, useful for a fatty like me.

I did grow a full set last year for the first time and I really liked it, but I noticed a strange phenomenon. Grow a beard and men will like your beard, men will admire your beard, even envy your beard. We all want one, we'd all like to grow one, but many of us are not allowed.

So grow a beard and get a lot of attention from men. Women, not so much. Women dislike the beard. Mine was lovely and soft and luxurious, but many women, even strange women, women who had no business passing any kind of remark on my appearance would tell me to shave it off.

Roughly 15 years for me and would concur that the ladies love a beard. Not a full on Karl Marx job, but a well kept bit of facial hair is appreciated.

Indeed, only burds I found that don't like a good beard are the George Street perma-tan mob which I'm quite glad to not get any attention from. Burds from the rock and metal scene however go mental for some good beardiness!

Doubt anyone will ever beat this effort at the 1991 Beard and Moustache World Championships!

Can't say I'm one for the rock/metal scene, but appreciate the heads up with regards to a new untapped market! :thumb:

Full beard here, no patches. Birds love it in my experience. Sets you apart from the rest as well. Everyone can go clean shaven, not everyone can grow a beard.

Was going to give it a proper shot but I'm meeting up with a new broad next week so it will probably have to go. Don't want to take any chances as I've kind of been waiting around for her for a while!

I'm 24 and have only really had the full growth ability for the last year or so, and have had the beard since last summer. Don't think I'll ever go back.

As above, it's only really your "TOWIE" birds that don't like a good beard. They've got some obsession with guys being completely hair free, which just isn't natural. If it's good enough for the likes of George Clooney and Ben Affleck, it's good enough for me.

If yours is as bad as you're making out, I wouldn't try grow it. Nothing worse than a neck beard.

I always have a fair bit of stubble. Proper stubble like, the sort you could spark a match with, none of the alopecia looking bumfluff you see folk rocking around with. Always grow a fair bit around autumn time then get bored and go back to being relatively clean shaven. I havent had a proper clean shave since I was about 18.

I've never actually met a bird who preferred a clean shaven man.

My missus would go ape Shiite if I shaved my beard off,she loves it and actually moans when I trim it. She likes her men like real men

On the down side though I have to keep the hairy shoulders

Goatee's not bad, I just don't get a hell of a lot of growth on the cheeks!

Never tried. Starts to come through quite thick after about a week and a half.

More of a designer stubble, but too lazy to shave it.

I haven't shaved in 6 months yet all I've got to show is a wee tuft on my chin.

My wee porno goatee as it's named.

Oddly enough, my girlfriend is the only person who doesn't want me to shave.

Never been clean shaven since I was about 21, except for one day a couple years ago I took it all off and I came out in about 20 massive spots! Never again and the beard is now a permanent fixture.

Bizarrely none of those yet. My pubic region is all safe. It just seems everything else is fair game.

At the age of 42 I have decided to stop shaving because I ******* hate shaving. Beard is shan because it is blonde/white/strawberry blonde and the heid is as black as it's ever been. Must be the Orcadian, Viking blood. :thumb: but astonishingly bursds absolutely love it. :ruiner:

Day two.

Thicker and darker than I'd expected at this early stage. It's still more teenage Hispanic delivery boy than anything though.
