Fair enough but Zal has had more good than bad games.For that reason alone he deserves another chance.Agree with your views on the other 2.How long has Bednar got to go on his contract.He could be worth a couple of million if it is a couple of years. Kurskis Basso Goncalves Robbie Zaliukas Ivaskevicius Miko McCann Beslija Pospisil Beniusis Elliott Makela None of those players would be a loss to the squad. If we could get rid of them and bring in 4-5 players with decent ability we'd be laughing. But I've been saying the same thing for about the last 4 windows so not expecting much. Good to see Pillowbiter is away too. I never saw him play that often, but I dont think we were ever going to see much from him. Another case of freeing up space. CMc Posted January 21, 2008 Share Posted January 21, 2008 I think people are being harsh on Gonclaves and (to a lesser extent) Zaliukas. Jose is still a young player and his positioning and reading of the game will improve with age. A good manager will turn him into a good player. If the tactics incorporated him bombing forward it would work well for us. Zaliukas - scored from distance at Easter Road. Scottish defenders have become cult figures for this. I really don't see the reason in binning him, a replacement would probably have to be on more money. There is still a good left back somewhere in Goncalves, I reckon a good manager would get the best out of him. Basso can stick around as a back up and I have no problem with Robbie being the same. World Soccer had Shaun Bartlett down as the new Ronaldo back when he was with Fc Zurich to be fair. The Copil article was wrote by a Scottish journalist, and given the 'hype' about him at the time he'd have written his article in tune. Good choices apart from Robbie and Jose unless we get a decent price for him. And id still like to see what Makela can do but there is more chance of Beniusis being the next Henry. MacDonald to return in the summer with Banks and possibly another keeper to follow. We should return our interest in Schmeichel on loan from Man City as he hasnt got much chance in the first team with Joe Hart playing so well.
