noisy, smelly things.

There, I’ve said it!

They were banned in Reykjavik until quite recently and are now only allowed with very strict restrictions.

Owning a dog is a fundamental human right. Open the book of human rights and it is there on page 1. City or no city, you can't take the dogs away.

(Incidentally until the ‘80s Iceland also had no TV on Thursdays and for the entire month of July to encourage people to talk / socialise and get up of their ar*es.  Maybe not the worst idea)

Obviously not a popular opinion, but I don't think people in cities who are half wits, should generally be allowed anywhere near the Internet to avoid some utter shite being spraffed.

Some are alright. In the right context. Anything similar in size to a cat isn't a dog. It's a fashion accessory. :)

Always admired our Icelandic neighbours. :)

Sorry, missed that page. Just checked, and you're spot on. Guess I just ain't a fan of human rights. :(

I concur. ;)

Apologies Jonesy. Referring to you as a half wit was OTT. No excuses despite how much I disagree with your views.

Where does it say that? I don't remember anything about owning pets under the Human Rights Act.

It's in the footnote, at the bottom of the page, next to the bit about Soops not being entirely serious :)

It's hard to tell sometimes! Especially when folk carry on with the joke!

Not going to lie, genuinely googled it thinking "When the **** did this happen?"

Ha! No worries. I take half-wit as a compliment compared to what my wife usually labels me :)

My real seethe is people in cities who like the idea of a dog but can't actually bring themselves to look after them properly. My late-grandfather's second wife ran a dog shelter in southern Spain, and the treatment/confinement of some of the dogs, despite have acres and acres of wild campo  just outside the urban area they lived in was heartbreaking.

I hear you and I’m the same.

Think there’s a big problem brewing with folks who’ve picked up dogs during lockdown.

Some right dozy and lazy feckers out there.

Malinga the Swinga

Ed Balls. Failed as politician and now seems to be forcing his way onto TV as 'fun personality'. The man makes me want to punch the TV as he pretends to be a man of the people.

Makes my skin crawl just thinking of him

People who use the Americanism 'could care less' which is the exact opposite of what they mean, but seems to be creeping into wider usage.

The most annoying change in language since the battle for 'literally' was surrendered.

This is probably one for the seethe thread. But the constant misuse of the word ‘literally’ pisses me off greatly.

I’m giving up *insert something they barely do anyway* for lent.

Good for you. Oh, I didn’t realise you were catholic?
I’m not.

But you’re religious though?

I’m not.
Then why the **** are you observing lent then you idiot? Just so you can put it on your Facebook page and, in better times, go on about it at work? If you genuinely want to do a religious observance try Ramadan, that one’s a bit trickier than giving up pickled onions for a month.
But I did dry January as well.

You only drink about two glasses of wine a week, about the same as everybody else I know who did it. Try giving up talking shite, that’ll be more of a challenge for you I’d guess.

Oddly my yearly annoyance at this still isn’t sinking in with some people.

🤣 Bang on with this. Ramadan is only difficult within a non Muslim community/workplace though. Otherwise it's just a party with guys eating fried chicken from sundown to sunrise.

A few months ago I received an Amazon delivery at 0630. The guy pounded on the door. Scared the shit out of us as you automatically assume something is wrong. I mean, who else knocks on your door at that time.

Who comes up with the idea that parking the car away from the kerb is a safe way to park ?
Not sure what pisses me off the most

this kind of parking idea stupidity, the floating bus stop ideas or the spaces for people .
I look forward to the knock on my door when the councillors come asking for my vote

I see the CeC charlatans have resurrected their proposal to have a Poll on the Christmas & New Year events in Edinburgh! If a poll is good enough to decide on these events why can't we get one on Spaces for People? I'll tell you why because they know they will get defeated!

There is now a SFP online consultation, not that CeC will actually take any notice of it and SFP will not only stay but be expanded.

I know about the consultation but if its anything like their earlier consultation exercises less than 1% respond and they make no distinction between respondents who live in the city and those who don't!

I see the EEN today had an article about some pressure group wanting all vehicles banned from the Holyrood Park! FFS when will this pandering to these people stop?

The current one at least asks for postcode so will show whether or not respondents live in the city or not

The solution to the Edinburgh traffic is staring the council in the face. If your furloughed or working from home you should not be allowed to drive in rush hour.
Problem solved and I can still make it to most jobs in 15-20mins even with the  SfP nonsense 😀

Or maybe this one?

You know, like ones with traffic of all sorts freely flowing down them, unhindered by crude attempts to frustrate residents who happen to be driving through them to cater for the tourists?

No chance it will be like the ones in your photo!

Royal Mail are a bunch of useless *****. Pay for next day delivery, still waiting 3 days ****ing later. According to the tracker it’s at local do, yet despite that doesn’t seem to be getting any closer. It seems to sit in each do a day before it moves,

It’s pretty ****ing important as well.

There web services are useless and trying to phone and actually get someone to speak impossible.

The whole DO thing really annoys me, I've got 2 post offices within half a mile of my front door yet if I miss a parcel I need to either wait 3-4 days for re-delivery or drive nearly 3 miles (if I was to rely on public transport i'd need to get 4 buses)

I’ve got a post office directly opposite my front door, about 15m at most. Yet if I’m not in the driver apparently can’t hand a parcel to them and put a note through my door saying it’s in the post office. If I need to go and collect it it’s a long journey as I don’t have a car and have to bus or cycle, I’d rather cross the road.
