It doesn't matter because he'll be playing anyway. What with us being a cheating club with no class or 'sportin' integriteh'.

We'll cheat, Zal will play, we will win, Hibs will cry.

He got 2 bookings and Hearts entered at a later round. Its been all over the media. :cool4:

missing out a final from 2 bookings in 3 games is a bit much IMO

exactly so how does Robinson not miss the final?

Robinson will be down as serious foul play or violent conduct so misses the next game regardless of the competition. Zal is out for 2 bookings meaning that his ban is for the LC competition

Barr sent off for two yellows. Straight red eg for violent conduct = miss next games in any competition.

Zal should have just two footed a guy before the penos then......

Would have missed dundee and county but played in the final.

Then he would still have been suspended and wouldn't have been able to take THAT penalty.

Plus he's not that kind of guy....

Harsh way to miss a final but these are the rules

Pretty sure he would still have missed the final. Straight red following a yellow doesn't wipe out the yellow.

Yup just strange, how Robinson gets a red and doesn't but zal gets two yellows and he does.. bit silly.

Loan Zal to an English club with a rapid recall clause, misses first game through ban (non specific in England) and then we recall him after the game, simple and .net wil implode haha

Get the sisterfister.net internet sleuths on the case, I'm sure they could find an obscure loop-hole and then create a 15 page thread demanding justice!!

As pointed out on another thread, a cross border loan is for 6 months, so he'd miss the rest of the season not just the final.

I know it's all tongue in cheek & won't happen but out of interest could he not be loaned out then just called back by his parent club at any time? Seem to remember parent clubs being able to cancel loans at any time due to squad injuries etc? Happens a lot with 3rd choice keepers

You could if he was in the same country but if you sent him to England he would have to stay there for a minimum of 6 months.

And then watch the Hobos cry and laugh at them as they fire letters off to David Cameron, The Pope, Her Majesty and Barack Obama asking for an investigation.

Good to get that cleared up. Does anyone know why Wilson wasn't suspended for the semi-final...

ZAL should have decked the referee after the penalties would have received an automatic red card and been able to play in final and the ref would have had a sair pus.

The whole Zal thing has highlighted that it's not a level playing field in the League Cup.

Jim Goodwin is free to play despite being booked in 2 of St Mirren's 4 games. Zal is suspended because he was booked in 2 of Hearts' 3 games. So Goodwin can be booked in 50% of their matches and Zal can only be booked in 33.3% of ours!

Is it fair we're punished because we had the temerity to win the cup and qualify for Europe? Is it fair to "assume" Zal would have picked up a booking in any 2nd round game we might have played? Can we assume the opposition in any 2nd round match would have been of less quality than we have faced? I say no, no and probably!

Two bookings for a centre half in three games can happen easily so to miss out on a final is extremely harsh but something we must deal with. I've been shouting elsewhere for a semi-final amnesty so unless you're stupid enough to receive a red card in the semi, teams should play finals at full strength. It was good enough for Euro 2012.

You seem confused. Since when did fairness and common sense have any place in Scottish Football?

For me a player should only miss a final if they are red carded in the semi (which would scupper Robinson). Why should a player miss a showpiece match for what could have been 2 ridiculous bookings in separate games? Zal could have been booked on Saturday for something like celebrating a last minute winning goal and would have missed the final.

Football concentrates far too much on the negatives.

2 bookings in 3 games is 66.6% :ninja:

Correct but I said he is only ALLOWED to be booked in 33.3% of his games whereas Goodwin had a licence to be booked in 50% of his.

I'm saying, factor in the fact that Zal enters the competition when the more difficult teams are presumably still in it should be taken into account so any "advantage" should go to the side entering later. Especially since that theory has been proved right by two games going to ET.

Goodwin was taken off after 62mins of St Mirren v Ayr, presumably because they were coasting and they didn't want him to mistime a tackle. Means he has played 362mins in the competition, inclusive of ET at Aberdeen. Zal has played 330 so the minutes to bookings ratio is not much different. Difference is we haven't had an easy game in which we could "protect" Zal from himself.

It's the rules, we knew them etc etc so let's get on with it, unfair or not! Perhaps it should be changed to two consecutive games so everyone is on a level playing field?
