Nice. In that bad winter 3(?) years ago I used my mtb to get around. Was awesome. :)

Folk thinking they can get around in snow on mountain bikes :illogical:

Errr, I did, and do. I'm not talking about snowy streets. I'm talking about off road and cycle paths.

Cycle much do you?

Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC

That time we got pumped bandy by the snow, I had to walk 4 miles to work and 4 miles back, every day for a week. I spent about 15 hours trudging about and falling on ma ******. It proper knacked me for weeks.

So **** off.

:jjyay:

Should have done some long slide tackles on your way to work. Very enjoyable.

Nah m8. I have a trek in the shed fully kitted out but i prefer the heater in the car. I was brought up with cycling. My dad raced most of his life, has quite a few trophy's n shit. He made me cycle to my first few jobs. It has scarred me for life.

Babysitters and primary school kids love it. Meanwhile proper people with important stuff to do dread it.

I've got a class of Higher kids relying on me for real qualifications. The snow can GF itself.

Thinly veiled, hopelessly disorganised teacher already way behind where he should be in a blind panic at not having made contingencies or planned ahead blaming the weather for his incompetence type post IMO.

Think of all the slide tackles you can do in the snow folks, that should change your mind on the upcoming snow.

Then you get the benefit of coming in and having some nice and warm hot chocolate thanks to the snow.

For those two reasons alone you should all love the snow.

I'm afraid Mr Lawson is not in school to answer this message. The school year in Uruguay ended on 30 November 2012. He will return from the summer holidays on 1 March 2013.

Looking forward to the disappointment of no snow in Edinburgh.

I hate these snow forecast warnings, they get my hopes up and then I'm well and truly let down as we end up getting a months worth of rain and no snow at all.

I won't get excited till the snow actually start falling from the sky.

Bought a snow shovel last year after the 2010/2011 blizzards that rolled into Penicuik, and it sits in my shed all gleaming and untouched.

A gleaming and untouched sledge sits beside it.

I would like lots of snow please.

2010 was exceptional, it was bad in Edinburgh - incredible in the sticks tho - I measured 41" of clean snowfall at one point... Literally could only see the car roof

I now work in Penicuik. There was contingencies being put in place last week for having to close due to bad snow.

Suppose it was as bad as Edinburgh can get. But out of Edinburgh was unreal.

It took Mrs Bagger 2 hours to dig our car out as we needed some supplies. When she finished I changed my mind about going out as I fancied (another) day in drinking hot chocolate.
