His nice little 5-1 flash at the vermin was the highlight of the game for me. Well worth the booking.

I thought Patterson did well.

Other than him and Zal, fairly poor stuff.

Thought Paterson was our top man today.

Zal was MOTM today for me.

He had to try create things because our central midfield is that bad.

Standing on the hoarding pointing to his name was a MoTM moment.

Good game but not really sure what went on with him and webster for thumbs goal

He seemed to ignore marking Griffiths and focused on playing him offside - only to stand more than a yard behind him

Webster's fault, in the main, imo - poor positioning.

Zal was trying to cover his position and the space to the right, where Hibs had a man over.

McHattie was also taken out of the game after being sucked inside for the nth time.

More Webster's fault - it was his man and was looking at Zal but still tried to play offside.

Wetherspoon had cut inside McHattie so Zal had to move over to cover. That left the gap for Thumb.

The Hearts legend was outstanding. A privilege to watch him in the flesh today, as it is every week.

Not as good as McPake

Have seen him play better IMO. Consistently lost out to McPake at corners and long throw-ins. Also thought he started to lose his concentration after his booking.

Colum booking him for that though

How can people blame Zaliukas for the goal? He was in front of Griffiths because Wotherspoon had cut inside, it is Webster's responsibility to either mark Griffiths or let Zaliukas know that they are stepping up to the 18 yard line. He doesn't have eyes on the back of his head.

His 1-5 gesture was fantastic.

Agree. He was one of Hearts better players, but to be honest ,that was not hard today. Not sure about goal. I think 50/50 blame with Webster. His passing . when he did pass it out continues to be woeful for me. I prefer him though, to the simple things right and to be fair he is doing that now. He clears his lines at right times, whereas before he would try and dribble/pass it out. Definitely better. Someone mentioned McPake earlier in thread i think. He had very good game, and hope Big Sutton is out of his pocket by now. Not blaming the big guy totally. His service was woeful.

Had he taken a step forward instead of a step back at their goal Griffiths would have been a mile offside.

Then Wetherspoon would have been through on goal.

Interesting as I thought Patterson struggled with the pace of the game throughout the 90 mins.

Can I just remind you that there are significant numbers of Hearts fans - HEARTS FANS - who don't like our legendary captain.

Incredible :cornette:

Seriously can't understand anyone blaming Zal for the goal. Had to step across to block Wetherspoon after he had got past McHattie. Griffiths wasn't picked up, by Webster or either of the DMs - but even allowing for all that MacDonald nearly diverted it past the post.

Zal taking off where rudi finsihed last season - the 5-1 was great wind up.
