Markie
Im thinking of replacing my old wood door with a nice new shiny UPVC one. Anyone know what sort of price range I will be looking at? Will need to be secure to as I live in the Shadows of Easter Road!!!

Miller Jambo 60
?500 ish. Talking about doors kicked the **** out of mine at xmas time. The wife had fallen asleep. My oldest came to my aid 30 mins later at -5C The neighbours gave me their old door as they are building an extension to their house. Cost me 10 pounds for my joiner mate to swap panels over. Beat deal ever.

Italian Lambretta
You would be better off sticking with your wooden door and fitting some quality locks on it. Or even better get a new solid wooden door with some ASSA locks fitted. uPVC is **** easy to open and are now more prone to attack from the local neds. Its not so much the doors, but the lock cylinders are generally budget crap that can be snapped, bumped or drilled. Solid wood is much more difficult to force open and any wannabee burglar would normally have to smash the frame to get it open. A lot of noise that would alert the Polis. Brian Whittaker's Tache
uPVC is an abomination and should be barred on the grounds of good taste (especially the wood lookalike stuff) A proper wooden door is the way to go
