Youth bounce game U19s & U17s

I watched a game between what was loosely the U19s and U17s this morning. The younger side won 4-3, although the result wasn't too important. Some good preformances from Billy King, Sam Nicholson, Ryan Stewart. Adam King, Angus Beith, Mikey Thomson and Callum Tapping.

There were a couple of trialists however, one was a Swedish centreback who was recommended by Dave McPherson. He looked a bit off the pace though and was subbed at half time.

The "U17" side had an overage American trialist keeper who I have identified as Andrew Dykstra, who has played in the MLS with Chicago, but is currently with a semi pro USL side Charleston Battery. He is 6' 4", aged 25 and looks pretty decent. I mention that as I was told that we currently have no senior keepers who have signed up beyond the end of the season.

I also spoke to Denis P. He had his hernia operation on Tuesday but will be back swimming and in the gym next week and hopes to be able to resume full training a couple of weeks after that.

He better spend the next 7 months cultivating a decent moustache if he wants to live up to the good Dykstra name. <_<

FF, any idea which under 19(s) will be on the bench tomorrow?

Our new keeper for next season? American keepers are always pretty good.

Maybe they took up "soccer" after failing in their original career choice B)

Your guess is as good as mine.

Temps turned up for training today so he may make it despite being unwell earlier in the week

Apologies, I didn't notice it until I got another text later in the afternoon. However, it was already into the 2nd half when you sent it, at least going by the time on the message. :smiliz64:

I was talking to an Under 19's player that I know tonight and he says Dykstra is "a class keeper". Make of it what you will but he says that he stopped some good shots today with ease.
