Statto
Just save up loads of 5p's, 2p's and 1p's. Make them work for the extra 10p!!! Put in 12x 5p's, 13x 2p's and 24x 1p's. And watch them count it (and try and hold back the laughing)

MackaysCentreSpot
If the increase is due to the price of fuel the why as it looks have they only put up the Adult fares and not the cost of a childs ticket, buse passes, day savers etc. Surely they cannot just put the cost up for one section of their customers. coppercrutch
But inflation is only at 2.1%. Or so the great leader tells us.... Funny how pretty much everything is going up by 'more than inflation' these days. Makes you ask just what these figures are based on.....

Funny how pretty much everything is going up by 'more than inflation' these days. Makes you ask just what these figures are based on..... Based on Lothian Buses bus fares, inflation has been at around an average of 6% annually since the mid 90s. I got bored and played around with Excel. If it was a constant 2.1%, Lothian Buses bus fares would now be around 70p.
Deek
I may be wrong here but, those criticising LRT I can only assume have not lived in other cities of the UK like Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Portsmouth and Bristol. Try their bus services and prices and then see how LRT compare. John I can talk about Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield as I have been there. They all have either a good tram service or underground/light rail. You get what you pay for. I cant talk about the rest. I now live in Penicuik and we get an excellent service from LRT. Plenty of buses during the day and a night bus for me to fall asleep on when i go home after a few.

Got home applied for student loan and got a car off a mate. Not looked back.

CompleteIdiot
No way in hell would i walk, cycle or cartwheel 10 miles each day. I used to cycle 15-20 miles most days purely for fitness reasons. Cycling is a great fitness regime. When I had holiday time, I was doing hundreds of miles a week. I gave up due to feeling like I was going to get into a bad accident. I'd just been in too many near misses. I can't blame you for taking the bus.
