  2. I have emailed that email address. Not to complain, but to highlight the advice conflicts with the deadline.
  3. I have no idea. This is what they told me. I hope they do not mind me positing the reply: ‘The renewal period finishes c.o.b 4th May. The season ticket will need to be renewed before c.o.b 4th May, you can still put it on the ticket exchange but you will lose the credit at the end of the season. We understand the issue, it wasn’t a ticket office decision and if you wish to make a formal complaint contact [email protected]’’.

    Summer 24 Transfers - Vargas signs 5 year deal ( updated )

Obviously it's not his call in the end but reading this HS article Atkinson certainly doesn't sound like he expects to be going anywhere in the summer. https://www.heartsstandard.co.uk/news/24271585.hearts-defender-makes-steven-naismith-silverware-claim/ At the very least he's not angling for a move back home himself. I'm sure he knows another RB will be brought in. He comes across well in the interview.

I know exactly what a remarkable job cops do in a huge multitude of different ways and people making lazy uninformed statements do so normally because they don't.

Sandy would go on to send his kids to Prestonfield Primary, even when he was at Rangers, the same school Greig had gone to.

    U.S. Politics megathread (merged)

About a dozen things swirled around the Florida election that year. It was the Florida election, oddly, which might have tipped the Israel/Palestine situation from cautious peace process to slow and managed aggression. Florida is home to the second largest population of US Jewry (the first being NY of course) and the conflict, and political positions on it, were closely watched. Clinton and Gore, to their credit, put a big emphasis on the US being a "neutral voice for peace," trying to be an impartial broker. In a debate that year, Bush attacked Gore and Clinton for this stance, saying that the US should be unambiguously standing with Israel. Because of the importance of Florida, Gore immediately mimicked him and backed off the "neutral voice" stance. Now the conflict was on a knife-edge at that point, but also US politics were extremely closely watched by both sides in the region. It was around the time of that debate that the Second Intifada emerged, which led almost directly to the election of Ariel Sharon and his disengagement strategy along with the construction of the security fence. Was it Bush's cynical play for Florida votes that did it? I dunno but it sure didn't help. Add to that Ralph Nader, Broward County, the hanging chads, the "Brooks Brothers riot . . . " a few thousand votes, and maybe President Gore doesn't dismantle the counterterrorism unit in early 2001. Maybe they stop 9/11. Or if they don't, President Gore almost certainly doesn't invade Iraq, a war he was against far earlier than most US politicians (including, notably, the current President). Maybe we don't normalize war crimes, maybe we actually act on climate change in the aughts. . . That way lies madness...
  14. Life seems so complicated on here. The 24/25 Season Tickets went on sale and I just went to the Ticket Office and renewed mine…….simple. Life is too short to worry about other things.

So RN was partially responsible. Eh? He (CL) did waste much as it turned out with hindsight but he did not have the cash to acquire such footballing wizards as Gnanduillet, Kasteneer, Kio, Kuol etc. Thank **** the club has more money than it had then but even now if you read this thread you will see that many many fans want rid of more recent signings such as Grant, Forrest, Sibbick etc. That calls into question your new professionalism.

    Scottish independence and devolution superthread

Would you vote for a Scottish "Conservative and National" political party?
  20. Ulysses

    Scottish independence and devolution superthread

I'm not sure that seeking to "educate people" would be the right strategy. I mean, it might be a good educational strategy, but I'd be less convinced of it as a way to win hearts and minds. Not for the first time, I'm going to say that there is a reasonably strong conservative streak in the Scottish body politic, and unfortunately it doesn't get enough of an airing in the current constitutional and political setup. It means that there is no visible sign of a centre-right vision for Scottish independence - a "Conservative and Nationalist" counterpoint to the "Conservative and Unionist" one. I think the concept of independence would be enriched by the presence of a centre-right party that was also committed to Scottish independence, rather than what you have at the moment which is the SNP trying to be the independence "broad church" that covers all the political bases. By the way, I'm saying that as someone who doesn't vote for conservative parties and policies. But lots of people do, and right now, people are being sold the idea that in order to buy into independence you also have to buy into the SNP and a political spectrum that starts in the middle and tries to work its way left from there. Meanwhile, what if you're an economic conservative, or maybe socially conservative, but you're Scottish AF? Where's your political home? I think having two "indy" options, one centre-left and the other centre-right, would animate and energise the independence agenda. Of course, it may well energise and animate the anti-independence and devolution concepts as well, but that's just the price of good active political discourse. Let those parties co-operate on advancing the claim to independence, but let them go their separate ways and seek to co-operate with other parties on developing and implementing government programmes and policies in Scotland. Conservative hearts and minds might not be all that popular among some or many SNP and independence supporters, but some or more of them need to be won over and persuaded that an independent Scotland has something to offer them.

I would class Grant, Oda and Sibbick in the same category. Atkinson OK if playing wing back but we need better than all four of them for the starting 11 if playing a back 4. Wouldn't really move many on tbh, we will need a big squad and all of the above can contribute when needed. Could lose Cochrane and Beni. RB a CB, a holding midfielder and an experienced wide player with a good delivery required. (Armstrong if possible). Youngish striker as well, even if Shanks stays. Get him ready for when we do eventually lose him.

He was, but RN obviously had an input on players. If he hadnt wasted so much or thought he could do everything he could’ve been more professional. He had more than enough money to make us successful and he got us relegated. Thank **** the club learned that lesson and our recruitment process is the way it should be nowadays.
