Frankly, I'm disgusted. Almost as disgusted as when I hear the phrase "Ehlvisssss is an HMFC legend" from some WUM on the board.
You see, the problem is, other than that What Are You Listening To Now effort, there is hardly a bit of music seen discussed on here. Time for rectification imo as the board has loads of chaps and chapettes with great taste in music (I may or may not have tried to do this several times with disastrous mixed results.)
I'll get us started. Been listening to a bit of these shoegazers recently and quite enjoying their new album.
Scouting For Girls are a modern day Black Death (the disease not he band).
The song you posted is actually very good, and should now be added to my Zen Player, though what does shoegazers mean? As a possible criticism of the song though, my ZP also includes The Proclaimers.

For shame, Peter, for shame.
Shoegazing is a genre that was popular in the early 90's young Peter, before our time as hip gunslingers on the town I'm sure. It was called shoegazing because it was all very introspective and quite self-indulgent, and the bands would tend to just stare at the ground (or their shoes GEDDIT?!? ) when playing instead of performing like most acts would.
For classic shoegazing, please see Ride, My Bloody Valentine (both incredible imo, especially the second MBV album Loveless, one of my top 5 of all time), Swervedriver (not great imo) and the first Verve album A Storm In Heaven (awesome imo).
Another tune for the summer collection pop pickers.
Bit of a frond face at the start of that video Picard.
Toro Y Moi we can safely assume was brought to three people on Kickback's the nation's attention when I posted work off their last album. Tremendous stuff, and I will be wheeling that out in a big way over the summer months, along with a bit of this steeze:

I actually like a lot of music from before I was born, 91, I'll have you know.
I like The Ramomes, The Jam, Madness, Billy Idol, Phil Collins, Genesis, Queen, The Proclaimers (of course) and a WHOLE LOAD of individual songs from that sort of time.

I'm hearing My Bloody Valentine, Ride and a wee bit of Smiths/JAMC myself Dee, but glad to get someone else on the train.
What's tickling your eardrums the now, then, other than your old friend Charles' recommendations?
Iv'e giving some mash ups a blast. They've been on my Laptop a couple of weeks now.
Of the heavier side Purple,Sabbath,Led Zep feck even ZZ .
Loved the OP Track,CFA and good luck in your quest for ace toonz.

I see what you mean about shoegazing now though.
I wasn't meaning to patronise, Peter, just felt you needed the full explanation and the chance for me to pretend I am younger than I am
I'm sure a Phil Collins man knows the story. Sussudio is a great, great song... a personal favourite. And in Against All Odds, Collins wrote the finest song of the 1980s about monogomy and commitment.

I heard this the other day and have to admit I like it. Not so keen on the high pitched screaming right enough...
I'm normally into electronic music so this is a slight departure.
Loving, The Field, Apparat and Modeselektor at the moment.
Really good album IMO. Gave that a leathering on the bus through to Glasgow for uni, The Fun Powder Plot and Hooting & Howling were always my favourite tunes off that one.

Cheers blud. Feel free to post up any of the mash ups you're giving a blast the now. This thread isn't going anywhere.
Also, don't forget about your folky Zeppelin. Tangerine and Going To California = very under-rated imo.

I never said you were patronising, just wondered what it meant.
Sussudio is great but I prefer "You Can't Hurry Love". I'll have a look for "Against All Odds".
Here's another random song from 1981:
Wish I could find a louder version to have blaring.
All Eternals Deck is probably the best thing John's released since The Sunset Tree. Possibly even All Hail West Texas. The Atmosphere record has its moments but lyrically is pretty poor. Do me a favour and just skip Bad Daddy. You'll regret it otherwise.
Oh and everybody should be listening to The Hold Steady. Download Seperation Sunday and go from there. Seriously. The best band in the world right now.

Every word of this is fact.
A taster:
PS. You actually couldn't have picked a better choice than Stevie Nix - my favourite, especially the breakdown at the end.
