Is that not looking up the side of Saughton Park, from somewhere around the gates down by the roundabout by the Water of Leith (junction of Stevenson Road/Balgreen Road)

The only other place I can think it was taken from was possibly up by the changing rooms on Stevenson Drive, looking across Saughton Park, with the football parks to the left and the all weather parks to the right (as you look at the photo).

 

This might be one for Buffalo Bill, since I suspect it is certainly part of his old stamping ground, as depicted in his book.

The path along the stretch of old railway line between the bottom of Moat Drive and Hutchison Crossway. It almost looks pretty when covered with snow...

It's not Stow is it, the old Royal Hotel being shut down now with a crossroads behind you and graveyard nearby?

Thats where my Dad lived right at top before buggering off to live in Thailand. was very handy for visits before and after the footy
