Harry Potter
This 1939 movie is on at the moment, a classic by all accounts, lasts for 4hours 25 minutes. Must be one of the longest movies ever, anyone know of a longer movie or ones with a similar length.

Olivia deHavilland still going strong - 102 next month. Edited June 19, 2018 by FWJ

I P Knightley
I started to watch The Quiet Man a little while ago (I was heading to that area of Ireland). It's not super-long, about 2 hours 15, but it felt as though 2 hours had passed when I was only about 30 minutes in. Ponderous shite and I'm sure that a large amount of GWTW could have been edited out without making it any less a movie, too.
doctor jambo
The English Patient went to see it drunk. Was woken 7 hours later lying on the floor of the cinema by a cleaner The film may have been shorter, who knows

Peter Jackson also dragged out King Kong for as long as he could.

SectionDJambo
Quite sure that when it was first shown, there was a break, or “intermission”, about half way through, to let patrons go relieve themselves or get refreshments.
