Honestly thought some of the complaints at the start of this thread were sarcastic nods to the ability of JKB to find negatives in the tiniest of things, but they were apparently just more evidence of it.

The teaser is to let folk know that it's out on Thursday, so that those who want to can make plans to get to Tynie to pick it up. I'm sure the last couple of seasons they've had Robbo/Lockie or some other special addition to the club shop for the launch of the kit, so they open later and stay open into the evening to make a proper event of it and allow people to get there since it's a school/work day for most.

But nah, let's moan about it!

If we move to summer football and the weather stays like this we'll be pioneers with our "near-naked" kit.:greggy:

Also, the season before wasn't up to much either.  Standard Adidas template, with a shite sponsor:

Heart-of-Midlothian-Home-Strip-12-13.jpg

The away shirt was pretty much the same, but the non-Hearts-maroon sponsor made it look minging:

New-HMFC-Strip-2012-13.jpg

At least the following season, the Wonga logo was the correct shade of maroon, matching the trim, which made it blend in a bit better.

The fact that Blacky modelled the new kit despite being a free agent made it all the more stranger

Oh dear god - can you just imagine the beer bellies in that ??

Mine wouldn't be.

It would mostly be outside it.

Strange that it's for Sale on Thursday but we are delaying opening up the shop till after 3pm.

Why?

I'm putting two and two together and thinking might be stock/ delivery related?

It would be a cracking strip with Save the Children on it!

Unfortunately, it was ruined by the Wonga logo.

Semi-serious question - would that technically be legal? Is there some rule about minimum amount of material to be used in a professional football strip?

Get a lace running round the 'collar' (or whatever it would be called) and it could work like a bra for my belly. Tighten the lace for a bit extra push-up.

With the added benefit of being 'wipe-clean' for spillages of king rib suppers and kebabs.

The 'abortion of a logo' definitely looks like it is on the outside of the shirt to me, going by the stitching below it, which looks to be how the stitching would look on the outside of the shirt. You get me?

I do love Rudi in an Ajax style top

I actually really liked that kit!

Would be happy to have something similar again.

Especially happy if Sir Rudi was wearing it

I like the “HM” writing on the back, I also like the circle badge on the back of our current home top.

Roll on Thursday.

Would personally really like it to be like the new West Ham top and hope it's not an 'Ajax' style kit which was awful the last time.

Does the top of the teaser picture show some navy trim on the collar or is it just darker maroon?

Fair enough - so we add stylish 1 inch sleeves and we're good to go.

The teaser pic is easier to see on the club website. The motif looks like it's under the collar which looks like it may also be maroon.

I seem to remember some team, possibly Nigeria played with capped sleeves so is that a fairly new rule?

Cameroon tried to wear a sleeveless shirt at the 2002 World Cup but FIFA forced them to wear black sleeves underneath the shirt

They also had an all in one kit which didn't go down well with FIFA either!

Was it also Cameroon that tried the lycra one piece outfits with the design like they had been clawed by lions? Or was that Ghana?

EDIT. Yep, it was. Beaten to it by smart arse above.

On the subject of the teasing I think it's a load of nonsense. A football strip doesn't need drop feeding publicity to build interest. There is a defined marketplace for it - Hearts fans. 99.9% of those who sees the teaser will already be interested in seeing/buying the kit when it is released.

If anything, it could be argued that this approach is counter-productive with regards to the number of people planning in advance to buy the kit on Thursday. You're hardly going to make plans to buy it without seeing it, unless you are a buy any Hearts top regardless kind of person, and it seems they aren't going to release the full image until it goes on sale on Thursday morning.

Do we think it's Ajax style then? Hope not tbh? The navy and white Ajax away was a thing of beauty but wasn't a fan of the home effort last time

Am I right in saying there has been 4 pages of moaning about a shirt nobody has seen yet?

Got to love kickback :)

I will save my moaning for when I actually see it ;)
