I would certainly hope the cafe food and drinks menus will be available asap.

I would also hope there will be much more visible signage to the cafe so the public at large know it exists.

Where the bar/cafe is located is not great for footfall I.e. passers-by. It's also not visible from Gorgie Road which already has many food outlets some with sit in facilities.

Therefore the food/drink available are going to have to be good enough to make people want to walk round a corner and be able to find it easily.

My wife tried running a cafe a couple of years ago and despite her best efforts failed. It's a tough business to make a profit unless you can turn over a LOT of customers.

Decent, but still preferred the whimsical subtlety of The Scarf and Funnel. ??‍♂️?

Me too, and that's what I'll be calling it regardless of the official name.

They could host wakes. Put on a buffet etc.

Good idea, St Johnstone have a good income stream from wakes.  However, they are next door to the crematorium.

Heading along to the Scotland under 21 game later with the wife and a few friends, we’re meeting up in town beforehand for a few drinks. Might head along to Tynecastle a bit earlier though as I see Hearts have tweeted that the Eighteen 74 bar will be open from 4pm .

I'm scared to go here. Too many kickbackers congregating/lurking/loitering around angrily, for my liking.

On my way through on the train now, what’s the chances of getting in there for a quick beer before the game?

Must have an effect on neighboring watering holes....

Can see it becoming a draw for folk out with Gorgie, once word gets around....

Maybe similar to folk attending Weather spoons, travelling in.
