Scott Brown? Shows how bad we are at developing players or shows how blind to the truth our existing players are. No way is Scott Brown one of the best 4 skilled players in Scotland. Scott Brown might not be one of the best 4 players at Celtic.

By "we are" I mean Scotland not Hearts.

Boyd for me out of that lot. He might be a gormless arsehole but he's been fantastic again for Killie.

Tierney had young player sewn up before the season started. Lewis Morgan  would have been nowhere near this if Celtic hadn't snapped him up.

I don’t normally pay too much attention to the nominees but that is an awful list.

KB - has had a decent season and I suppose playing for Killie and being top scorer in the Premier deserves recognition.

SB - OK in the last OF game at Ibrox he was my MOTM but fine nothing to to deserve this nom.

JF - a player who I have always thought was hopeless. Started the season well to be fair to him but has went back to being anonymous for the last 3 months.

JMcG - I think he is a decent player but IMO McGeough is better.

Out of that lot I reckon Banjo Boy will win the award.

Surprised at no McLaughlin or Berra.

Very surprised that Souttar is not quoted.

Souttar is a far superior player in every way to McKenna.

The dafties in charge of Scottish football and the journalists won’t notice it until he is playing at a far higher level.

I think Boyd deserves it.

I called him done 2 seasons ago but he has bounced back and to be top scorer in the league playing for Killie is very impressive.

Deserves recognition.

Another thing.

Can't believe Ali Crawford's immense contribution to the league, has not been recognised either.

Incredible lack of fore-sight.

Dylan-iesta McGeouch not being mentioned either. Really weird.

If they had agreed the nominees around Jan/Feb, Berra would defo have been in there.  Sadly he’s been very average since so clearly not in the mix.

Playing in a team that's done comparatively nothing all season - I'm not that surprised, or bothered, that Souttar or Berra aren't mentioned.

Get some nominees next year instead. Maybe.

Yip.

Superb.  Must say from the little I've seen of him Forest looks the part but he plays for such a horrible club.

I'd vote for Boyd if I had to vote but I don't like him either.

Listening to Sportsound the last 2 evenings and all of the 'professional players' on the show seemed to be surprised that Berra was missing from the shortlist!

A few also agreed that McGeogh was a better call than McGinn

Sorry to be pedantic but It’s Scotlands players player of the year, nothing to do with Scottish.

So Zibby could have won it in 2006.  Is that what you mean.

Thanks for clearing up. Was wondering when McLeish would call up Shug Morelos

Im sure I saw something on BBC couple days ago McLeish fawning over Brown saying how much he deserved the award, bit inappropriate when 2 of the other nominees are current Scotland squad players

McLaughlin should have been in there for the clean sheet record.

That's what I was thinking.
