Wether or not it's a penalty the juventus players reaction was unacceptable

Totally disagree. That ref was influenced by Real players and fans all night

A wank who has been fast tracked. Totally out of his depth tonight.

For the second night in a row I have felt the game has been soured by some utterly ****ing useless refereeing!! What a farce :jjockio:

Can you blame them? All that hard work for that to happen

Disgraceful to have a little boy refereeing a game of that magnitude

Let's see if the panel back up the ref....I guess they will.

Real were not being allowed to exit tonight.

I hate Real Madrid. Loathe them. I think they stand for practically everything wrong in modern football. But that was a penalty - and Buffon cannot react like that.

I dunno what anyone else thought, but into the 93rd minute, you could sense something massive was about to happen. And it did. It's gutwrenching for Juve, devastating - but y'know, don't lose 3-0 at home in the first leg, boys!

Fingers crossed someone can stop Madrid. Bunch of wankers, the lot of them.

Yep, definite foul, shame it ended though :(

But aye, penalty all day.

He bulldozes him over to get to the ball. 'Never a penalty'...aye ok folks!

Looking at it again, I would have shouted for it. Thought the defender got a nick on the ball but he didn't.

See what happens when you don't bribe refs.

No time for Madrid but the day I feel sorry for that scummy mob is not going to happen.

Pish.

If that's outside the box, it's a foul all day long, and not a soul would dispute it. As it's inside the box, it's therefore a clear penalty.

It's not the outcome I wanted. I wanted extra time and to see Madrid humiliated like never before. Many refs would've bottled that. Oliver didn't; credit to him.

I don't think that is a penalty. Incredibly soft. Gigi is a legend and I can see how he feels cheated at that award

The referee performance is absolutely pitiful. Oliver is a disgrace and therefore that is no shock tonight

Liverpool absolutely can win this competition.  Real have survived big time tonight.  They have been atrocious domestically and got out of jail big time tonight

I would have fancied Juventus to win it if they had progressed tonight. I now think Liverpool will win it.

Best if they get Real in semi as the officialdom will only be worse if Real get to a final

Jeeezo. Champions league this year is actually exciting.

Real Madrid will probably still win it unfortunately.

He did get the ball. After he had rammed through the back of the attacker.

Lord Beni of Gorgie

At full speed I thought it was a foul. Be devastated to have that one knock me out.

Players losing it under such circumstances is not surprising

He didn't "ram through" Asensio though. He is certainly wrong side and has panicked to get back in. Asensio should have buried it and avoided all doubt. He showed no goalscorer instinct and therefore Benatia has been given a chance to recover

As I said above - Oliver influenced by Real players  (Ronaldo in particularly was a disgrace) and fans all evening. Caved in every time

Definite penalty for me. Anywhere else on the park it’s a free kick. Fair play to Michael Oliver for not bottling it. If that happened to Lafferty at Easter Rd there’s be 4000 ripped vocal chords.......

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

How can a club with 33 Italian titles (and in true Sevco style, they insist it's 35) have only won 2 European Cups ever - one of them via a final which should never have been played? Milan 7, Inter 3, Juve only 2. It's a complete mystery. :detective:

Oh yes. I know. :policeman:

Exactly this, Im not sure the ref will be able to understand that level of passion that takes you over the edge, in fact I guarantee he hasnt a clue.

What a surprise English commentators and English pundits giving an English referee their backing.

If Madrid had got that penalty against an English team they would have flooded the studio with tears and snotters.☺

Shaun, if that had been given against Hearts we would all be going mental.

In your opinion it was, I say it wasn't.

The sole arbiter said it was. I think he made a mistake.  I also think if that had been at the other end then we would currently be in extra time.

I'd be devastated if it was given against Hearts in similar circumstances (say, a semi-final or final v the Old Firm, with Hearts having come back from 3-0 down). I'd be screaming blue murder with everyone else.

Then I'd see the replays later, and gradually calm down. It's the amazing, close to unique circumstances surrounding this decision which have caused such a fall-out IMO.

As the BT commentators mentioned, there was a punch-up in the commentary box between the Italians and Spaniards, with the Italians escorted away

Football. Bloody hell.
