JKB Sole Survivor   is a competition which offers subscribed members a chance to win a prize of £250 for themselves - AND a donation of £250 to a registered charity, in keeping with JKB's tradition of donating our surplus funds to good causes.

Competition rules

Entry to the competition is open to JKB subscribed (paid) members only.  There is no entry fee.

Members of the Jambos Kickback Admin. team may not enter the competition.

A competition entry deadline will be posted on this thread. Members enter by posting on the competition thread no later than the entry deadline.

If your subscription lapses during the competition, or if your membership is terminated because of a ban during the competition, or your posting rights are suspended because of JKB rule violations, your entry is automatically deemed withdrawn.

The competition consists of two stages.  The first stage is the Qualifying stage.  The second stage is the Elimination stage, which consists of a number of elimination rounds.

Qualifying Stage:

This takes place over five weeks, with one challenge per week.  Each week, a challenge is posted, which will be to predict the outcome of a football game.  The outcome possibilities are: Home Win, or Away Win, or Draw.  Each player chooses one of the outcomes by posting on the competition thread before the round deadline. If a player does not choose an outcome before the deadline, the player gets no points for that challenge.  Players who correctly predict the outcome for that challenge get one point.  Players who predict an incorrect outcome get no points for that challenge.  A the end of the five-week Qualifying Stage, all players with three or more points advance to the Elimination Stage.

Elimination Stage:
In each elimination round, a challenge is posted, which will be to predict the outcome of a football game.  The outcome possibilities are: Home Win, or Away Win, or Draw.  Each player chooses one of the outcomes by posting on the competition thread before the round deadline. If a player does not choose an outcome before the deadline, his/her entry is deemed withdrawn. Once the outcome of the challenge is known, the players who picked the correct outcome proceed to the next elimination round, and the players who picked the incorrect outcome are eliminated from the competition.

Elimination rounds will be played until only one player is left, and that person will be the winner. If all remaining players are eliminated in an elimination round, the game is over and there is no winner.  However, the unclaimed prize money will carry forward to the next game and the prizes will increase accordingly.

The challenges are designed so that the outcomes are determined independently by the results of the selected football games. However, in the event of doubt in relation to the outcome of a challenge, the matter will be resolved by the Jambos Kickback management team, whose decision will be final.

The Jambos Kickback management team may amend these rules at its discretion in order to ensure the effective operation of the competition.

The first challenge is posted below.  Good luck!
