I'm planning on going along.  I thought I saw Harry Cochrane wearing a protective boot when I was heading into the Oriam earlier today.

One of the youngsters had a moon-boot on in the dugout area on saturday. Dont think it was cochrane though.

I wasn't 100% sure who it was, as he was wearing a hoodie with the hood up. He was in the company of Johnsen and Godinho.

What is happening with Beith. He surely should be pushing the first team midfielders now, surprised he's still left behind with the youth side.

it was a decent performance despite the result.  We looked decent going forward with some good passages of one touch passes, but as ever with Hearts there's a reluctance to shoot at goal.  Angus Beith was Hearts only senior player and we ended up with 3 x 15 year olds on the park at the end.  There were decent performances from Baur (played 65 mins), Beith, Petkov and Ritchie, while Solway did OK after coming on for Akers.

A new name for me tonight was Lennon Smith (yet another Smith), an U16, who came on for Aaron Reid late on.

Young Jack is in some good form right now. 2 goals from 3 sub appearances for the under 20's and bagged 7 goals in 5 games in the recent Foyle Cup.

Hearts had a young side out with some 15 and 16 year olds.Bonnyrigg are one of the best Junior sides in Scotland.Last season prior to the heavy defeat by Hibs they beat Dumbarton in the SC.They have a number of seasoned ex seniors in their side.

Hearts played well with Baur Beith and Petkov the pick for me .I liked the look of Leonard. He looked technically gifted but is young and lightweight.

So i dont think this game compares to what happened at Peterhead.

It does concern me though that supporters are being led to believe that the Academy is going to produce a conveyor belt of talent.Unless we can recruit the best young talent around in Scotland and beat the OF and other clubs in this respect then its not going to happen. Some of the players i saw last night could make it but there again maybe not..

Beith, despite a few lower league loan spells (where by all reports he done ok) and a couple of injuries, has been kicking about our u19/u20/development squads for about 5 years now and has had less than a handful of first team and substiture appearances. I very much doubt he has a long term future at Hearts. Assume he will be released as soon as his current contract expires.

Seems the club are trying to organise a loan deal for him.

Any idea where? Seems pointless him going lower leagues, would like to see him in a championship team, think he's good kust needs games at decent level to show it

Not ITK but Inverness would be a good shout

Apparently he doesn't want to go out on loan, wants to stay and fight for a first team spot, can't see it coming tbh given the lack of first team chances he's had could be another promising youth player going down the leagues.

Apart from the fact the legend is the manager due to them being very short of players (listening to Robbo's interview at the weekend) so he'd have a chance of regular first team football which is what lads of his age desperately need to develop.

You've been negative/down about Beith on a few occasions. Any reason why?

Talented youngster who has been unfortunate with injuries but will have a bright future just has to keep working hard. :2thumbsup:

Have heard the opposite . Desperately trying to get away to get first team football whether it be on loan or permanently. We won't let him go until we bring more players in which we are well within in rights to do . Believe the boy feels he needs to go elsewhere to showcase what he can do and can't blame him for that either .

Robbo

Jack Ross

Are both interested but as I say it's a waiting game to see who we bring in first .

I've caught few of the 20s pre season games and fair play to him most would take the huff being out the picture but he knocks his pan in even when playing with the younger lads . Not sure if he will make the grade with us but he certainly has ability and will play championship or spl

I first heard and seen Beith playing for Hearts youth's around six/seven years ago and was very impressed with him (rumours at the time were that Aston Villa were keen to take a chance on him and wanted him to go South as soon as it was reasonable which clearly never materialised). I always said Beith was/is our top prospect at that age but there seems to be a lack of progress the last few years and I don't think Hearts have handled the whole situation too well.

Like most on here and further afield we've followed his progress closely but playing development league football is a nonsense for him just now. We should have had him farmed out a championship level club at every opportunity over the last 3 years if not getting a chance of game time at Hearts.

I think his progress has been dented severely due to a mixture of our poor loan move handling and the subsequent lack of development. He's a pretty rare breed in Scottish football in that he is technically a very sound player so just a bit disappointed we have not developed him to his obvious potential with a view to selling on down south quickly for a large profit.
