Good luck Ian Black tomorrow with Blackpool in their play off final. He was immense for us in our cup final and wish we still had him at his peak. Some Blackpool 'fans' are continuing their protest against the owners by boycotting this game, cant get my head around that !

A cup winner so I can't possibly disrespect him but I know what you mean.

If he didn't play for us, I'd have despised him. One of those players though. I'd give anything for a Blacky character in the team.

He lived all our dreams, a Hearts man in the final of finals, and he stood tall. I can't grudge him a single thing, good lad blackie!

I remember that reprobate Ian Murray giving it "that's quite unprofessional for Ian Black there he'll regret that in the morning"

This coming from a guy that shaved 7-0 on the side of his head for a game he's wasn't even alive to witness or something to that affect.

Zoomer!

Always thought he was an odious wee prick

he was ours, one of our own, always gave 100% unlike some of the soft imposter we've had since. Never let odious pricks from other teams make him look like pussy .. You never ever saw Scott Brown **** about with blackie.. Dominated the shite on 190512..

Wish we had 11 of them

Superb for last half of 2012 season but the previous 2.5 seasons were forgettable to say the least. So many daft tackles leading to red cards

Anyone who calls a cup winning MOTM performing player and odious wee prick is one themselves and never in a million years a Hearts fan.

Opposition fans hated him which meant he was doing a grand job for us.

As I said about Lafferty every decent team needs a bit of a nippy knob of a guy noising things up.

If someone wants to meet me in a car park to discuss such an argument, go **** yourself.

Benny Factor

I thought his reputation meant he was treated differently to other players.

I can't remember who the ref was when he was sent off early on at home to Kilmarnock, but he went to his pocket for the yellow card, then quickly changed his mind to a red once he realised who'd committed the foul.

Apart from in the final when he could easily have been sent off early doors....

A very average player, but heart of a lion in the big games. Many could learn from it in this current squad.

Fantastic game in the BIGGEST ever derby 1-5 NLTF

100% Hearts which led him to playing with his heart rather than his head at times which whilst not always good, it's ALWAYS better than those who play simply for their pay packets in games .

Love to have a combatative wee terrier like player in our team ,lets the opposition know they've got a battle on the pitch

Terrible footballer who was roundly hounded upon on here and in the ground for being a terrible footballer.

Turned up when it mattered though.

A terrible footballer wouldn't have been able to put in that performance in the final.

It's well documented that he was largely mince apart from the last few months of that season however he was a different player going into the final.

He was far from terrible.
