Messi Jail Sentence To Stand: But Will Not Be Served.

I think it is conceivable that someone that rich would hire someone to deal with his tax. Plenty of rich people have been robbed by accounts and not noticed until it's too late.

I also think Ronaldo and Messi bring millions into the Spanish economy through other avenues. But hey, if that was you or I, we'd be doing time.

Weird system over here.Domestic violence is a big thing theyve cracked down on over here. You verbally abuse a woman be prepared for a fortninght in the jail.you commit fraud regards millions you dont go to jail. Its obviously his first charge as if it wasnt he would go to jail.

Personally I think he has been very harshly dealt with and believe what he says.

I believe he probably doesn't concentrate on his finances to any real detail and has people who do that for him but ultimately its his responsibility.

It would be interesting to see if this is consistent with previous decisions for others.

That was my point, too.

He cannot hide behind behind an excuse of "I was unaware of what was going on".

Same as in this country. Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

His mistake was allowing his dad to be in control and not a respect firm of accountants. But hey, footballers aren't the brightest (even if your the best of a generation).

Sorry, I'm sitting here getting pissed on my own, great

Seeing Ronaldo and Messi in these predicaments, WTF.

1. How much do people rally want to earn. Both have fortunes that the couldn't possibly spend anyway.

But again..

2. Why do we have this "tax the rich" attitude, "they can afford it", hmm.. not really the point though.

Times like this, I think, am I a Tory or am I socialist?, am I a commie or a capitalist?

**** knows, but I have got myself into a nice lifestyle, by working hard and more recently, being sensible with money.

When you earn that much money there really is no excuse IMO

But why do we have this "tax the rich" attitude.

Anyway, I'm still drinking away her, great.

I'm at this stage now

Edit

Need to rewrite the lyrics

Rionldo and Messi are rich because they are gifted. Supremely talented footballers.

We live in this idolised society, where we build up these celeb football stars.

Admittedly, these two guys are exceptional. Not once, but twice a generation.

Must admit, I haven't a clue what my point is.

Just talking about the Tax the rich mantra. Ronaldo and messi would by nothing without us.

Only reason he's not going to serve a real sentence is because of who he is.. If this was any other normal person like you or me then we would face a custodial sentence without a doubt.

Messi ain't a child no more, so to say you dont know what's happening with your money is a lot of nonsense. If i had that kinda money I'd be watching it very carefully.

You most probably wouldnt as you would employ people you fully trust to do it for you.

Messi most certainly did not deserve prison and I still believe he was unaware of what was happening and so has been harshly dealt with.

i disagree, his father was the wring person. An accountant or financial person would have been better and being unaware is not an excuse. If it was no one would get done for dodging tax etc as they could claim "oh i didn't know"

So why throw the book at Ronaldo when he hasn't even been found guilty.

I said it tongue in cheek as I am always supportive of Messi. I dont have a clue about Ronaldo's case so dont have an opinion.

I don't find it hard to believe that he didn't know about what was going on with his finances. Back when I ran an LTD company Ii paid an accountant to make sure everything was done properly as I didn't have the necessary skills to sort it out on my own. I don't find it particularly hard to believe that Messi is in a similar position. You certainly have to question his judgement in letting his dad handle everything though.
