Bring Back Paulo Sergio

I think given both are Hearts fans and at the end of their careers (or pretty much anyway) people are kinda hoping the childhood dream of playing for their team with finally be realised.

I'm hopeful that fulfilling a childhood dream will motivate them.

If this is what we are basing our recruitment hopes on then we are goosed.

This may come into Whittakers thinking for his very last move but I doubt it will at 32, when he can still earn big wages.

You're the biggest Hibs sympathiser on here

Where that come from?

I know hibs fans that don't go through us as much as you, make of that what you will.

Just cos I hate the ranger's more, don't call me a hibs sympathiser you Boring, boring person.

Update regarding McGregor.

No contact. He is now on holiday so nothing happening soon.

His dad has had tons of texts from hearts mates asking the same thing.

This isn't happening IMO.

Nice update.

Hubs signing or being linked with a few decent players.

I think if we want our targets we have to push the boat out a little tbh.

Scougall, Crawford, Bain and mcmullan would be a decent start for us. Add a decent striker and I'd be happy

Swanson.

And their close to signing the lad from

Oxford who was attracting a bit of interest down south last season.

Being linked with Murray as well.

Not saying they are great players but it's good to get your work done early

The fans are understandably getting desperate to sign anybody but the Sheffield United .midfielder Stevan Scougall although playing 110 games down south has been playing for fleetwood town last year on loan

I think we'd regret not signing him if he goes to st Johnstone. No doubt he'd end up having a great season for them.

Could see it being a danny swansonesque signing. He's a cert to be quality, everywhere but in Gorgie.

So players that we thought were signing have had no contact from us. Who are we actually going after?

not heard anything more from others about the names sent.

I was talking about how people saying Whittaker, MacGregor, Scougill and Sow, then a few days later is that we are either not spoken to them, not given a credible offer or nothing else said. Probably me being impatient.

That being the case, I dunno why you'd even mention them, let alone blow smoke up their arse regards their signings.

It all sounds a bit 'meh' to me, even if the players who haven't signed, sign.

Most of us were underwhelmed when Hartley signed to be fair...

Really. He was Scottish Championship player of the year and was a revelation at CAM for St J. I was very excited when we signed him, although that disappeared when Levein tried to play him on the wing initially.

Quite possibly.

His game is actually suited to a tighter pitch like Tynecastle rather than Hampden nowadays.

We weren't that fussed and he started poorly

Whether at the signing or his initial form we were underwhelmed.

Equally we were pretty excited about Wyness and Sutton

There's an easily identifiable point in there buddy if you stop being opaque.

Hope so. This is always the worst time, between the last game and the start of pre-season when news is very scant.

No danger anyone was excited by Hartley. Everyone's memories of him was the underwhelming spell down Fester Road.

Is there anything actually in the mcginn rumour other than the fact he's out of contract..

Think it all stems from the media reporting we had offered him a contract.

And the NI Macphee connection.

It'd be quite a coup but I think he'll get bigger offers.

Reported that we offered him a contract. He isn't staying at Aberdeen and hasn't announced where he's headed. Only 5 days left on his contract...

I think Its a done deal but I'm no way ITK.

Bad game or subbed and all of a sudden his 'legs have gone'. He'd be a cracking signing for us.

I'd be happy with McGinn but for me Walker is a better footballer.

Only problem with Walker is keeping him fit and motivated - when he is he is one of the best players in Scotland.

McGinn is hugely more consistent than Walker.

That's what I was alluding to. Injury and motivation hinder Walker.

It's fine mate - hard to judge on a forum at times.

Out of the names we have been linked on here (that are realistic) I'd be happy with McGinn, Crawford, Caddis and McMullan (going by what I've heard about him).

I can't see us getting McGregor, Whittaker, Boyce or Sow unfortunately.

Given a straight choice of McGinn or Jamie: Jamie every single time.

A far better player, can change games on his own to a far greater extent than McGinn and in a good team he would shine even more.

No chance McGinn every day of the week.

A lot of comparisons of McGinn and Walker. With Nicholson departing I'd be more concerned if he offers us better than him, IMO he is far better.

Nicholson was super effective at times but was missing in action more often.

Nicholson has been garbage more often than not for 2ywars.. He vanishes when going gets tough as well.. Not bothered if he goes..

McGinn,Caddis,Crawford and Sow all seem to be mentioned a lot. I've heard one or two rumours about McGinn and Scott Alan. Don't know if their true or not but will certainly be waiting impatiently until we start bringing more in. Out of the two RBs were most linked with (at least on kb) Whittaker and Caddis I'd definitely choose Caddis nearly 4 years younger if I'm not mistaken played plenty of games at Championship level. And probably the cheeper option of the two! (That being said I'd be pleased if we signed Whittaker)
