Time this appeal thing was sorted out. Clubs are almost able to choose which games a player or manager miss. If they appeal and lose the ban should be increased.

Utterly ridiculous, are the powers that be on holiday all week?

They put a memo out before the weekends games saying any reviews wouldn't take place until the 28th. Nothing to see here.

Which is a licence to put the boot in and get away with it really.

On what grounds are they appealing ?

It  would be hard to get a more clear-cut example of a straight red for violent conduct.

They should be hammered for blatantly manipulating the system.

Agree 100 % with above.

While everyone agrees that the Ross County player took a dive the hypocrisy of Celtic is unbelievable imo.

Are they themselves not guilty of cheating as well.

Appealing an obvious red card for a dreadful foul in the knowledge they have no chance of succeeding just make to make sure Brown is available for the OF match is cheating imo.

Tackle from behind with force, no attempt to play ball and in retribution for Boyces tackle on him.

Over turned

Who cares. It's Rangers they are playing. Let them get worked up about it.

Exactly. Isn't this the same guy a lot of folk state is useless etc..? If that's the case, Sevco fans must be happy he will be playing if they think he's that bad.

Correct.

Also, if the unthinkable happens and the Dons **** up next week I would rather have a strong, treble chasing Celtic waiting for Hibs in the final than a weak, crazy as a shit house rat Rangers like last year.

Brown is scheduled to get a few weeks off after the semi final.

So wouldn't be playing during any ban likely to be 2 matches.

When asked if he had any complaints about the red card, Brenda said no.

So why the appeal if you agree the the ref's decision ?

Apart from asking why they feel the need to be unavailable for reviews for the 4 working days this week that are not bank holidays.

Absolutely but that's another issue altogether.

I guess Liewell hadn't explained how they could work the system to Napoleon at that point. It's the SFA/SPFL (or whoever conducts the reviews) who need taking to task here. Nobody should be surprised at the victims reaction.

My issue is why reviews are not taking place this week. This again shows the SFA up as tin-pot, unprofessional and worthless. Surely people are expected to be working on business as usual during the football season?

Did this not used to be a thing?

3 match ban. Appeal and it could get better but could also be increased?

If they do appeal it, the ban should be upheld and increased.

That happens in junior football to stop clubs from appealing to get players to be available for important games.

Agree it should happen at all levels

Absolutely shameless that they're appealing it. No actual surprise really. I wouldn't be surprised if some media types praise them for it.

It's a futile appeal done for one reason, it should be increased but he will probably have it reduced to a yellow. You think if a Hearts player had over 150 bookings in his career the press might flag it up?

Why don't the powers that be bring in a weekly meeting regarding appeals. Say every Tuesday morning? If ANY team wants to appeal ANY decision from the weekend, it's dealt with at the Tuesday meeting.

The same time. Every week. And everyone knows the drill. Is that too hard for the cavemen at Hanpden to implement?

Exactly.

As long as Hibs don't win the Big Cup, I couldn't give a monkey's.

If he's banned for our game, even better.

What's the point of Scottish football.

Deliberate lunge in retribution, dangerous tackle and no attempt to go for ball.

Clear red card ofdence.

And primarily because Hallyday wasnt sent off Sunday being the real reason rsther than what is documented.

Scottish football is goosed!!! There is no logical reason they could overturn that decision football wise but they pander to the outrage of the pen decision minutes before the incident. Any other player outwith Celtic and the player involved would have had that red card upheld!

Absolutely no hope left in Scottish football. I used to dislike when kids grew up watching English football and following English teams but good on them, least you won't have to put up with SFA pandering to the Old Firm.

If it wasn't for Hearts, I'd have chucked this game years ago.

Wow - Even the Celtic fans I've spoken to have said it was a straight red card.

I honestly thought the ban would get increased as Celtic only appealed so Brown could play at the weekend.

Would like to think serious questions are going to be asked in how they managed to come to this conclusion? Raging but certainly not surprised!

After over 40 years of following Hearts and witnessing this type of bias you would think I would be immune by now!

I'm not - I'm feckin raging!!!   There is absolutely no hope for Scottish football.

Who is honestly surprised by this outcome. No sign of Brenda Rodger getting pulled for his comments about Refs.

Evens up Boyd's head butt a couple of years ago that was "not proven" :stunned: despite being played back in slow motion half a dozen times to couple of million TV viewers!!

The sellik players and management more or less instructed the panel (via the media) that they had to reduce it to a yellow because of the Halliday incident.

After all these things "even themselves out over a season"

I'd say it's now opened a whole new can of worms with appeals coming in by the bucket load citing this as grounds for reducing assaults to a yellow card offence

Surely every straight red card now has to be appealed, absolutely shocking but not surprising

I said this based on the reds Hibs have had rescinded but feck me, this one is completely laughable :D
