EPL finance. A different level.

With the increase in TV money this season all the EPL teams could half their ticket prices and the clubs would hardly notice a difference.

Little bit off topic but do we think the current Spurs squad is better than the one we played or that they now have a better manager who has them playing a more suited style?

Stuart McNeill

Hopefully with the new stadium getting built, that will increase the match day ticket sales greatly, so we are able to push a little further forward financially.

I'm sure there was an article somewhere about one of the German clubs, that said they basically don't care too much about the prices of the tickets there, as it only makes such a small percentage of their income.

Think it said something like - we value the fans happiness more, as it is basically the same income as selling 1 player on they no longer want.

They had Bale, Van Der Vaart and Defoe, who would easily walk into the current Spurs side I think. Pochettino the better manager out of the two though.

"Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness today accused Premier League clubs of 'milking their fans like cows' by demanding exorbitant amounts for season tickets.

Explaining the move to keep season tickets prices down, Hoeness reportedly said: "We could charge more than ?130 (?104). Let's say we charged ?380 (?300). We'd get ?2.5m (?2m) more in income, but what's ?2.5m to us?

"In a transfer discussion you argue about the sum for five minutes. But the difference between ?130 and ?380 is huge for the fans.

"We do not think fans are like cows, who you milk. Football has got to be for everybody."

Cant really disagree with any of that. Although the fact they are in a position to be able to say 'whats 2.5m euros to us' is in itself an issue.

However - EPL GTF.

Until everyone refuses to pay Sky the outrageous ?100 a month fees then it will continue.

Absolutely spot on all that money for second rate films and football try getting folk on board though

I genuinely don't think he was trying to be condescending rather just being honest.

A club like arsenal charging as Much as they do is utterly detestable.

A club like hearts rely on the fans money so it is more understandable. EPL clubs don't have that excuse.

Burnley make ?3.7 million loss to June 2016

It shows you that even chasing the dream or standing still in the championship costs money and that with parachute payments as well

'Burnley have posted a net loss of ?3.7m for the year to June 2016, which the club has attributed to funding their Championship promotion campaign.

Sean Dyche's side were promoted to the Premier League last summer - having been relegated 12 months previously - which cost the club ?11.3m in bonuses.

During the stint out of the top flight, turnover fell from ?79m to ?40m.'

sadly with arsenal having a waiting list lows them to charge ~?1000 for a season ticket and people still pay it

What the figures also show is we could be an EPL club easily.

With the vast majority of funds coming from TV and sponsorship etc the reality is the size of the supporter base is no longer as vital as it once was in England.

When Celtic and Rangers bleat about getting the chance to play in England they should be asked why them and not other Scottish clubs for there are a few who could claim to be a lot bigger than some English clubs bar the TV money.

Take the Hearts to the EPL ..... need to sign some good players though ...... Callum Paterson would be a good signing and he's always wanted to test himself down south!

Your right in theory. Indeed im cancelling miy sports packages a month before the end of the season - however the real money is what they sell on to other countries /continents. That's how they can afford to splash the cash. And there is no slow down over there

It's all obscene but supply and demand is there for now

I would love for Hearts to publicly state they want to move to England. Just to see the hypocrisy as we're charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

And we laughed and we laughed.
