The last time I went on a supporters bus was Stirling Albion away about 15 years ago with Orwell hearts. Not sure if they're still running.

Was a good laugh though

Muirhouse Arms/MacKenzies used to take 2, 3, 4 buses to some games. Sadly no longer about. I used to travel on them in the 80's

The Orwell Hearts Supporters Club is still going strong and they run a bus to all away games and for "big" games more than one.

Used to travel on the Tranent bus in the 70's even although I was from Edinburgh. There was a few of us picked up at the phone box at the start of London Rd. I think some of them left after a few years to join or even start the SCAB bus.

I was a mere teeager of fifteen at the time. If my father knew half the stuff I got up to, I would never have made sixteen. Fun. Oh yes.

Christ there's a blast from the past! Every bus always seemed to be 'picking up' at Drumbrae and Clermistion.

My son a was a regular on the Captain's cabin bus. I came late to attending games after my first was a disaster in the early 60's. So most of my travel was by car.

Longstone Hearts, early 70's, get into any bother and that was the last time on their bus Buy  a Gary Owens 10p IIRC, prediction ticket once a week to pay for the bus through the season , 30p or 15p given to you when it was Kilmarnock or Aberdeen to get a fish supper on the journey back from the game season.

Mind we stopped back from Kilie, lad on our bus asked a Celtic supporter in chippie about League cup.  Partick result and had his nose broken for the trouble

It was on the supporters buses many of the football songs were born, youngsters banging a drum wouldn't get that.

I'm from falkirk area I don't think there's ever been a supporters bus from here, so I used to travel through to get the Ardmillan bus at haymarket from 92 till bout 96/97, great wee club and everyone kept an eye out for me ,I was only 13/14 yrs old when I started going home and away every week,I didn't realise supporters buses were dying out these days.

I was never really committed to one bus.

Been on the Busy Bee, BMC, Longstone, Ardmillan, Luckies, to name a few. Went on Hearts own buses a few times aswell.

You always got an idea how big the travelling support was going to be with the amount of buses advertised in the paper on a Friday night and the number of pick ups. :)

Im with tollcross.picks up at the doocot & spice lounge

I think someone confirmed on a similar thread a while back but did the Tollcross run from a boozer on Fester Road?

I thought it was a one off when we went with them to the semi final in 86 v Dundee Utd. I remember verbals with a couple of vermin buses leaving for their semi at Dens.

When I lived up there in the late 80s, following McDonald & Jardine's exciting team, I used to sit and wait outside Haymarket and all the supporters buses used to stop to pick up unattached fans to fill their empty seats. Was cheap too. Back in those days, there used to be big convoys of buses going to most away games.

Failing that, Douglas Park, then vice chairman, used to provide buses (Park's of Hamilton) for away games booked via the club - travelled on them a few times.

Well, you've taught me something about Park's of Hamilton.

Never ever thought of that.

OMG I remember that! The debate was; "are there enough at the London Road pick to fill the bus" or "shall we stop at Haymarket"!

And the Edinburgh Evening News fans section listing all the supporters bus times! It always psd me to see Glasgow teams buses (from Edinburgh) listed there!

Ha - Local knowledge :) The firm is still running too. I'm from Hamilton and always stay there on my trips North for games. They have a huge depot just off the East Kilbride expressway.

I'm pretty sure Park's still did the buses after Mercer and Douglas Park fell out after the well known incident when the latter locked the Ref & Linesmen in their dressing room after a home defeat to Deidco.

The good old days. Getting dropped off at a pub then after the game running up and down the dozens of buses looking for your one. Great times.
