Peanut Butter

Locky

Recommended Posts

So, Monday's topic of discussion, am I missing much?

Peanut butter seems to be everywhere, and the yanks ****ing love it. Tried it when I was about 4, found it disgusting. Never had the cojones since.

I despise peanuts, in dry roasted form etc. But like them in a chocolate bar. Would I like peanut butter?

I don't like it on its own, I do love a reeces' peanut bar though, or the mini cupcakes that they do.

Peanut butter = awesome

Toast+ butter + peanut butter = magical

Though to be fair I eat the stuff straight from the jar with a spoon

The last few times I've been in a shop, I've been so tempted to buy them. Maybe later I'll give in and try them.

I'm in an adventurous mood, Friday I ate salad cream unintentionally.

Only used in our house as an ingredient of satay dipping sauce.

Don't even get me started on that.

Peanut + savoury. :muggy:

My wifes' sister loves having it on toast.

Trouble is, she keeps falling off.

I have ate it from the jar with a spoon for over thirty years, and have to agree that on toast with butter is amazing.

I'm sure it was salad cream. Mother-in-law gave me half her chicken burger, thought it had a strange taste but assumed it was ketchup, until towards the end I noticed it had white stuff on it.

She says the father-in-law always puts salad cream on her burgers and didn't think to tell me. I hope to god it actually was salad cream.

Was your father-in-laws face flushed?

If so, you're in big trouble

I love peanut butter. My Yank colleagues have gradually persuaded me.

As for their Dr Pepper pish.......I would rather lick the moisture from between my own cajones than drink that keech.

Peanut butter (smooth) and jam toast. 2 slices for supper with a cup of coffee. Excellent. Totally unhealthy but excellent

Салатные палочки

Never tried it with "jelly" but I might need to.  Maybe tonight!!  I love it on its own, smooth or chunky.  Love Reeces as well.

Reese's cupcakes are incredibly tasty. I've not knowingly had peanut butter sandwiches, perhaps I should.

Peanut butter is great stuff.

Fill celery stalks with smooth.

Crunchy goes well with jam in a piece.

Whack it in brownies.

Make satay sauce at home.

Put it in the crumble topping for apple crumble.

Almost any other nut can be put in a food processor and turned into a butter.

Macadamias, hazelnuts, brazils, all good.

It'll be a disappointment I'm my experience.

Love a peanut; LOVE a peanut.

Tell you what I hate though; I HATE peanut butter. I like satay, too but you can shove your peanut butter right back up the arse it came from.

My mum put me off peanuts for life when I was bairn.

She was worried I wouldn choke on them when I was A Kid so proceeded to tell me I was allergic to them and that I would die if I ate them. Now, I have a phobia of them.

Fwiw, the dry Roasted "peanuts" or peanut butter isn't even peanuts. They are Legumes.

My wife tried a peanut butter and "jelly" sandwich for the first time a couple of months ago and loved it.

Not tried it myself though.

Crunchy peanut butter and banana on toast is the dugs.  Smooth peanut butter and jam (jelly) all mixed together before spreading on a piece is also great.

Peanut butter cups, reeses pieces etc - rank.

Wife wanted to look at and post on this thread after looking over my shoulder.

Once she realised the word was actually 'peanut' she lost interest.

I love peanuts. Roasted, salted, you ****ing name it. Even though I am just over a year away from entering my fifth decade I love putting peanut butter on a piece. The Snickers bar is probably my go to item of confectionery.

However, I fully respect those who do not like peanut butter, let alone peanuts. As for those poor, unfortunate souls who suffer from peanut allergies, my heart goes out to them so it does.

Peanut butter sandwiches or on toast is awesome. However I can't stand Reece's pieces or most other chocolate bars with peanut butter in. Tastes wrong.

A family size bag of peanut butter M&M's is the dogs but I don't think you can get them outside of the US.

If I am wrong about that I am sure someone will tell me.

Sainsbury's stock that, as does amazon groceries

American nut mud is the best. I buy Skippy crunchy in 1kg tubs from a shop opposite the Festival theatre. Its a pity you can't get Jif or Planters here. Avoid Reese's nut mud. It's ****ing foul.

Love the stuff. Will eat with just about anything, works as a sweet (on toast, pancakes, in chocolate) and a savoury (satay, bang bang)
