Eh, call me thick but how is this allowed to be shown live on Man Utd TV and we can't show our game? Confused.com...

Doesn't involve a team thats in the top tier of their league i reckon.

Plus do you seriously think this would be more threating to a Champions League match than a Scottish Cup match?

My point is it's a televised match involving professional football players at a professional club.

It wasn't a dig mate, just my silly sense of humour.

It kicks off earlier than 7:45pm so doesn't clash with CL directly.

Last year, the English FA had a cup tie kick off at 7:15pm so it could be televised.

The SFA simply haven't bothered (again) to change the kick off for TV coverage, or that there was no point because no TV broadcaster wanted to pick up the game (unlikely given that Sky Sport Scotland's twitter feed is full of derby stuff and how to watch highlights of all them back to 2006).

I'm going too but I believe the highlights are on at Tynecastle tonight after the beam-back is finished.

Fancy trying to catch some of the highlights?  We could leave the game early and jump on a 44 bus in London Road.

I remember that arsenal game starting at 7.15, but I don't actually get how this works, as a 7.15 kick off still clashes a fair bit with a 7.45 game.

Didn't our League Cup QF at Easter Road a couple of years ago not kick off at 7.15 or the likes? Just proves its been done before.

Ah it was actually 7pm it kicked off  - http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/hull-city-set-7pm-kick-arsenal-fa-cup-replay/story-28809038-detail/story.html

You'd never get the SFA working their arse for this sort of agreement!

"FA chief executive Martin Glenn said: "We want all of our clubs to be part of strong, vibrant domestic competitions, to perform well on the European stage and for the England team to be challenging for international honours.

"To have a better chance of achieving these aims more effectively, it is imperative we resolve the on-going problem of match scheduling together.

"We would like to thank UEFA for taking the time it has to understand our position on this matter.

"Fixture scheduling is an issue for the whole game so let's build upon the productive conversations we have held with the Premier League and Football League and call upon UEFA to join the discussion to create clear, workable guidelines for the benefit of all.

"This will help our teams in the pursuit for trophies; enable fans to fully enjoy and access all the matches their teams participate in and allow broadcast partners to maximise the TV rights they have purchased."

The FA got special dispensation due to Arsenal still being in the Champions League and Hull competing for Championship promotion.

There really was no other date available.

I can understand the frustration but there is some hypocrisy here.

Often on here we complain on here about changed or unconventionally kick off times to suit TV, but when we don't have one, we also complain.
