U20s kind of line up.

(Jack) Hamilton getting some game time or a sign we are bringing in a new #1?

EDIT: Mason starting, who is the other Hamilton? Don't see another listed in the U20s squad, trialist?

Full Time 3-0

Good to see the 20s have a resounding victory

Was there a change in how we approached this game compared to others this season?

Good to see Godihno back

Noticed he hadn't been mentioned for a bit. He seemed to make a good impression in pre season.

A good performance from the youngsters this evening.  They played the game with energy and at a high tempo.

That said Accies had the better of the first half and had a couple of goof chances in the first five minutes.

Hearts first possession in the Accies half should have resulted in a goal, when Harry Cochrane nicked the ball off the centre back and played the ball to Rory Currie who had a clear run in on goal. Currie chose to play the ball back to Cochrane rather than shoot from 12 yards, but Cochrane had got himself ahead of the ball and was caught offside.

Hearts went ahead against the run of play when Aaron Reid made a good run forward down the left and put in a good ball across the six yard box and Quitongo, under pressure from McDonald, diverted the ball into his own net.  Those around me thought that McDonald had scored himself, but the o.g. was confirmed at half time.

Hearts grabbed a second just before the break when Godinho did well to keep the ball in play wide on the right, then when the Accies defence got themselves in a tangle Cochrane got onto the ball 25 yards out and played in Andy Irving in the inside right position. Irving showed good composure to hit a right foot shot through the keeper's legs from the corner of the six yard box.

Hearts started the second half on the front foot and Zanatta passed up a good opportunity when he got a toe to a cross from the right but the combination of a defender and the keeper deflected the ball past the post.

Hamilton were pretty poor for the first 20 minutes of the half and kept on over hitting passes, but were starting to create chances again as Hearts midfielders started to tire,  Petkov and Leonard then came on for Cochrane and Irving  to provide some fresh legs.  It paid off as Hearts sealed the points after 85 minutes, when McDonald squared for Currie, in space around 15 yards out, and the striker directed his shot out of the reach of the keeper and just inside the post.

There were lots of good performances from the youngsters, particularly with Cochrane and Paton's energy making the difference in midfield, but it was a very much team effort with Hearts competing effectively all over the pitch.

Thanks FF

You follow the 20s, would you say there is a change in our style post Xmas or is it too early to say if Cathro is influencing the style of play he wants from the 20s?

No change in organisation, although the work rate was higher.  There have been a couple of occasions this season when they have played at a higher tempo and it has made a difference to the performance, so I wouldn't say that it was a change as such.

How did Paton look FF, just really impressed by the lad but wondered whether a loan spell would bring him on more?

Despite being on loan, is Beith still considered for the 20 s games?  This lad really needs to be kicking on with his career now and if Cathro is interested, surely he would be wanting to see more of him.  Or is he injured?

The club have high hopes for Chris, wouldn't surprise me if he's involved around the first time in the next 12/18 months.

Not like Hamilton. Are they not the same team they were at this level a season or two ago?

Surprised we won and convincingly at that.

If he turns 16 before the end of the season I can imagine he would make a cameo.

Paton had a very good game winning lots of challenges and making decent forward passes.

Beith is too old and I don't think his loan is classed as a development loan.
