Word tables question

Can anybody help? The document I'm working on has three columns. There will be text in all of them, but the right-hand one will be full while the others will have only occasional text. When I get to the end of a line on the third column, it pushes the middle one to the left to make way for more text and then continues over the edge of the page.

I'd like to make the vertical lines "solid" so that I can type in the third one, and when I get to the end of a line, it will just move automatically to the start of the next line in the same column, as in a normal single-column document. Is this possible? Please explain how.

Thanks to any kickbacker who can help.

It's either:

* Use 'wrap text' or

* Set the column width by clicking "distribute columns evenly" (or adjusting the column width to what you want it to be and it should then stick.
