I am far more bothered that they overtook us in the league tonight, to be honest.

The Rangers are still second m9.

I'm sorry, but I do t see what is wrong with rightly pointing out how utterly shite a home crowd that is for a team who think they are the third biggest in the country. That is a shite home attendance.

It's surely a worry when they are something like ?30 million short on the money needed for their new stadium

Picking up points made by Aberdeen fans on here it perhaps demonstrates how while they are doing okay on park the fans do not feel part of club.

That's a shocking attendance and is quite right to be slated..

If we had pulled a crowd like that for a league game we would have quite rightly been pulled up by it from all the other rival clubs..

On a different note has anyone seen the Aberdeen fan who posts on here.. he was quite vocal going into their game last weekend but has been posted missing since then.. would be quite interesting to hear his justification for last night..

The crowd at Pittodrie tonight.

Obviously all their fans from the central belt gave up on this one, way behind Hearts in loyal supporters.

Just pick their games, poor support.

Is everyone a Rangers fan in your world?

No, just The Rangers fans are The Rangers fans.

you really need to give it a rest. There is no doubt that there are a couple of hun sympathisers on jkb but Bowans Boot is not one of them. You, on the other hand, fall over yourself to support the Tims any time you can. Our football club is entering a new era; fan owned, complete stadium and a new coaching strategy. Maybe time to concentrate on football and leave the relgious/bigotred crap out

They'll double it when they move to a field on the edge of a village SIX miles out of Aberdeen though! .

So we're told by the codhead mugs that come on here.

Bazzas right boot

They won 5-1

Football matches aren't decided by balance sheets and attendances.

We are now 4th, with a game at Ibrox on Saturday and they have a game in hand. This is more important than the crowd IMO.

Their concern is the crowds, my concern is that they are above us with a game in hand.

We do have a wee thing for attendances on here, brought up allot.

Surely a big concern for them.

They couldn't sell out when fighting for second with a sniff of first, if they end up 3rd/ 4th their new stadium will make easter Road look full.

Absolutely this. The league position (and success in the cups) is what really matters.

It is, and although it might be funny, the number of "attendance" threads and even in a general discussion, people go on about other clubs attendances like a  football match is decided on them.

It's a bit cringey, daft ( has little relevance, especially in a one off match) and even has a bit of Old firm smugness about it, IMO of course.

They have more to brag about in the league and cups but it does not take away from the fact that that is a very very poor attendance. I just wonder what Aberdeen can do to alleviate this as if they want to compete with us in the future they will need a decent fan base. Even Hibs are getting double that attendance and Dundee could probably muster more at home.

Is there population not down by about 15% due to the economy? Starting to affect the club? McIness's team are not the best to watch by all account either.

I was under the impression that Edinburgh and Aberdeen populations were growing and it was Glasgow's that was Shrinking?

Yeah

But if the low crowds reflect the relationship fans have with the club and they get in big debt with new stand then Aberdeen could repeat Arsenal in being uncompetitive for years

And that helps us and is more important than 3 points

I doubt the itinerant workforce are having much effect on the attendances. The majority had either no interest in football, or were from other parts of Britain with their own team to support. There's no doubt there's only a fraction of the cash swilling around the area now compared to a couple of years ago though.

Not a big fan of people talking Hearts down.

We almost lost everything, dropped a league and then rebuilt.  Aberdeen have a single diddy cup to show for 3 years where they should have mounted a better challenge to Celtic.  They're peaking (football wise) and are about to plummet.  Their terrible fans can see it and that's why they're voting with their feet.  End times for this shitey wee club.

I hall spare a chuckle at such a piss poor attendance safe in the knowledge that doing so has naff all to do with whether they are in front of us in the league or not.

Celtic are even further in front. I'll still laugh at them crashing out of Europe without even a Europa fall back spot.

Must be great for their team to play in front of a cardboard audience, the 80s are well gone.

Defo, but that would be looking at their average attendance over a season, and I do like a good Aberdeen bashing.

But, imo, this picking out individual attendances is what I said above.

I dunno, but what I do know is there stadium is f freezing even on a calm or warm day.

No f way I'd be taking kids there on a December evening.

Shan, shan post Dipped Flake.

I'd like examples of me falling over myself to "support the tims" please. To be homest it sounds like you've been sucked into the common mind-set here on KB that I actually have preference for either of the old firm. As I have continually stated this is not the case. I will repeat for you and the other hard of thinking out there one more time: I dislike both the OF enormously and equally.

I'm fully aware of where our club is thank you, as I have been discussing it on different threads throughout the years.

I would also tread very carefully if you are suggesting that my posts (any of them, ever) are religiously intolerant one way or another. That is quite the personal slander and one that is fully un-justifiable with it being a complete untruth.

Quite pathetic actually. Long way for their central belters to travel though

Central belt fans are exaggerated on here. We do have about 500 central belt fans who actually go to away games in the central belt if there is a pay at the gate option however the vast majority of them don't have loyalty points and have been nowhere near Tynecastle, Ibrox or Celtic Park since the system was introduced. I go to almost every away game and our support is mostly made up of the same faces from the south stand at Pittodrie. For the games at Tynecastle last season I was surrounded by the same guys I stand near at Pittodrie.

Come 4.50pm on Saturday they won't be. :)

I agree. I'm hoping they are down to 4th.

Only downside of the weekend fixtures is that if we both win at the weekend, St Johnstone won't be able to close the gap on them

I've had a bit of a problem getting logged in.

As for justification last night, I really don't care about attendences.

I accept Hearts currently have a higher average attendence and that should be applauded.

I'm not about to get into a debate about it.

I'm far more concerned about the results on the pitch.

One thing I wonder, when the topic of attendences is brought up on here, is how it translates into the revenue stream.

If I was a Hearts fan, I'd be questioning how Hearts cannot improve revenue when they have such a large suppport

That has been questioned. Hearts fans seem to think Aberdeen make more from facilities but it is all expected to improve with our new stand

And just maybe Aberdeen weighed down by debt with your new stand
