Does our new LB have a left foot?

Think he's a good player but I really don't like having a right-footed left back. Will slow us down even more.

Rossi at left back him at rb. Punt Patterson for what ever we can get seems like a good idea going on tonights showing.

lost in space

WOW!! We almost lost one goal when he went to take a corner on the right - and they broke forward.  We had no-one covering his positioning.  I cant believe a professional team would be so inept.

His corners wernt even good.

If we have a scout who specializes in LBs - he must be a hobo having a laugh.

We didn't have a left footed player on the pitch tonight

There's a few weaknesses in the squad we've not addressed.

Lack of pace.

Lack of left footed players.

Lack of creativity.

Lack of a goalscorer.

Still time though, but maybe too late to save our Euro season.

i thought Rherras was one of our better looking players tonight. looked to beat a man, half decent service considering he's only bedding in.  If anything paterson looked like a man short tonight

LB , should be left footed IMO. He will be exposed as the season continues

Looked ok going forward but was all over the place at the back. Early in his hearts career so hopefully settles down.

:shitwine:

He was all over the place.

I don't know how much of that was down to him, though, as it looked like nobody really knew what they were doing last night.

Diadora Van Basten

Looked like a right footed player playing left back.

I was concerned when we signed him and am still concerned now.

Take him off corners and he would have got pass marks - worked hard, wanted the ball and seems to have a bit about him. Give him Pattersons spot and stick Rossi left back.

Whoever decided that our left back should be taking corners on the right hand side of the pitch is a $^??ing moron.

Given the time it took him to get there I was expecting something special but his corners either hit the first man or were over hit.

My son was saying that the players in his team could take a better corner and he's not wrong.

It was Sunday league stuff - no structure to our corners what so ever. No structure to the runs made, no specific area for the corners to be delivered into. Just send the big lads up and Rherras told to hit them with no other instructions. Awful.

Given how much of a shambles they were at the back it doesn't take a genius to work out to drop the ball into their 6 yard box.

I was disappointed as normally at the start of the season teams come up with some clever set pieces but we obviously hadn't bothered.

No issue with him cutting inside but I want to know he can go up the line on his left as well. Didn't see that

Cutting inside is only useful if it's unpredictable. Could see that getting sussed out quickly

You're forgetting that Smith was a more than competent replacement for Paterson last season so I think if CP gets sold then Smith is the one who gets the chance to make the RB slot his own. It's unfair to judge Rherras on one performance but it seems that LB is where we've signed him to play so we should give him a run of matches there. Rossi is also our best CH so he should be in ahead of (on last night's showing) Souttar and not shoe-horned into the side as a makeshift LB (though he's perfectly capable of playing LB)

Cut The Crap

Moved forward well, but all over the place at the back.

Seems to have the memory of a goldfish as well, judging by how many times he had to be reminded that he was on corners and freekicks.

Bungalow Bill

He was always cutting in, defenders will easily deal with him.

Why can't we just buy a left footed left back!?

thought the infonet left back looked great, dealt with Sam well and his delivery/ dead balls were excellent.

I see the guy has 100 caps for Estonia, so probably no surprise he stood out last night.

Meh, thought he looked ok going forward and positioning for defending was poor.

Get him off set pieces, all of them were shite.

I genuinely think we have signed Rherras just because he can pass with two feet!

How can professional footballers not hit the target or pass from 25 yards with either foot!?

Could have been sent off near the end for his kick out at their player also, lucky the officials missed it...

Not entirely true to say he doesn't use his left foot at all. Very fleetingly, but he did use it. To have a team with not a single left sided player in it was weird, can't remember seeing that before.

Malcolm Tucker

As I said in the math ratings thread, when he gets used to playing alongside Ozturk & Souttar/Rossi I think he'll turn into a good signing. First half showed some of what he can do, bombing up the line, taking players on etc. And he did cross it in with his left a couple of times as well, although they weren't the best crosses ever it did at least get the ball into the box.

After last night though, I'll try not and judge anyone.
