Hibs in three play offs in a row. A record...?

That's three years in a row, starting against Hamilton.

Who'd bet against them making it four...?

Of course it's a record. They have been in them all since this format started.

Another first for them. This ranks right up there with first score board IMO ;)

And I'm sure that yet again they will play football the Hibernian way (how it's meant to be played according to them) and screw it up big style.

A 5-1 thrashing in the final would then round it up perfectly  :fth:

They no doubt see this as a success ! Tick Tock .

Presumably Falkirk have been in them all too?

Will they be good enough next season? After all, they have got worse.

So it will be either two, four or five play-off games before the cup final with one game after. Should be lots of squeaky bum moments there then.

They like the play offs but results have been poor

2014 Lost to Hamilton

2015 Lost to Rangers

So its Hibs 0 everyone else 2

So effectively up to four cup finals in a row. Just as well Hibs are so good in cup finals, especially against teams they're expected to beat. Oh...

That's our score to keep as is 4-0.

1-0 off side that leads to a penalty which is missed and ordered to be retaken and scored.

Craig Thomson can be ref

Could be the seven, maybe five, or possibly just three, most important games in their history!

They've never actually won a play off tie then, both of those defeats were in the first round in which they took part.

Am I right in thinking Hibs could be the first team to lose two cup finals and a playoff final in the same season?

It's actually 4 play-offs in a row. They were the last team in the previous carnation of the play-offs

First team to lose two cup finals against two teams who'd previously never won a major trophy

This seems to suggest that there are FOUR DAYS between the first and second final for playoffs and the Scottish Cup final is in between. Is this really the case? Won't it change if Hibs progress?

it would change. Been confirmed. Second leg is changed to midweek.

But Hibs will get 2 weeks to prepare after Raith knock them out.

Hobos in my work have objected to a lot of things today.

They have objected to the play off dates, saying they are unfair. (Well, you should have won the league then, arseholes).

They have objected to the plays offs themselves, saying it is wrong that such important decisions are based on goal difference (even though they slag us for 86).

They have also complained about the split of playoff money (even though Petrie voted for that split, and Motherwell did too, when Dempster was on their Board).

In all the play-off chat have we missed the fact that finishing 3rd in the second tier is (I think) Hibs lowest league finish since 1931/32 when the finished 7th in the second tier?

I've not read through the thread so I'm sorry if this has already posted, but is it not still a possibility that if they were to get to the final play off match that the opposition could possibly be Hamilton again.

Could well happen.

Only four points between Killie and Hamilton.

Scott...it's Hibs !

Four games before they could even contemplate the form of the Premiership team.

It's a no from me !

Sorry...sounds like a big contradiction.....Killie could well be the play-off team....playing Falkirk.

That's very fair minded off you to point out this relative success by Hibernian.

Assumining your supposition is accurate, I would have thought Hibs record over the last 80 years or so would have been a lot worse than that.

Of course it's a record. They have been in them all since this format started.

Another first for them. This ranks right up there with first score board IMO ;)

They're also the first (and currently only) SPFL side to be relegated via the new play-offs.

Another first.
