Craigieboy
Tell you what, we have some set up at the club now, from top to bottom. We knew this, but hearing the details of how we scout players and then look after individual players and their agents is very impressive. Completely professional. I'll let someone else elaborate on the details.

jambos are go!
'I think we'll sign a centre mid' apparently That was not said. Robbie said he was happy with the squad but given the opportunity he would strengthen central midfield first. He said Anderson could move if he could find a club but he was a good pro and he would be happy to keep him. H e said we were not ready to challenge for the League yet but hopefully within 3 to 5 years. Nonetheless we will go to the Old Firm set up to win from now on. Craigieboy
Agh Cmon spill the beans ? Sorry. Didn't have time to reply last night. I was impressed when CL & RN were asked how they managed to attract players like Juwon & Juanma. The club seem to have a massive support network for all the players, but particularly those coming here from abroad. Claire Cowan looks after all their issues relating to such things as buying a car, getting a flat and dealing with satellite dishes Yesterday Juanma apparently arrived at Riccarton with a bag full of everyday shoes so that Claire could deal with some insole issues he's been having. It seems she is the busiest person at the club. Also, when trying to lure a player to Hearts the management/board will meet face to face and ensure that the player and their agent are shown around Edinburgh and our clubs facilities. They make sure that the agents are well looked after and in a sense, spoiled a little. This keeps up good relations and when agents have more players, they will more often than not come to Hearts first. Not just because they have been wined and dined, but because the players are so well looked after during their time with Hearts that this decreases the agents workload in terms of dealing with the players needs. CL & RN were in good form and Robbie isn't the dour faced **** that he often comes across as. Well impressed with the whole structure at Hearts. To say it's like night and day from past regimes would be understating it. I really feel that the club is on the verge of great things.

Nookie Bear
Hope Defoe doesn't read KB as he is bound to be making a bid for oor Claire! Was just thinking the same! Dealt with Claire once, at the beginning of the 2005-6 season, and she could not have been more helpful. For those with kids who watch Peppa Pig, she is our very own Miss Rabbit! EIEIO
Robbie was asked why as an exponent of the long throw we don't use it. Basically said it was not an effective way of creating chances, though it did work for St Johnstone as we had a new defence.
japanjambo
Took 4 months of negotiating to get Oshaniwa in. But as Robbie said, he thinks it was worth it.From the 6/7 age group and up through the other age groups, we are looking after one and all so very well. Our club is in the best shape it has been for years, from top to bottom.
Jamhammer
At the last home game I was thinking how massive the difference was. Even watching the team warm up there appears to be a structure. Running drills whilst Partick were just kicking the ball to each other. From the board to the kids the whole organisation is being run by people who love the club, who are working to the same plan and are doing it quietly and efficient. Very impressed and this has brought the support back. We are on the verge of something special here. Make no mistake.

That's an interesting point, because Oshinawa has the same agent as Gomis and Buaben. Also, Pallardo and Juanma have the same agent as Sandoza, who CL took to Dundee Utd. If we are able to cultivate good relations with agents, who realise that their players will be well looked after and that Hearts is a club that can help further their careers, then we just maybe give ourselves that bit of advantage in attracting players of a caliber that otherwise wouldn't naturally choose to come to Hearts. jamboinglasgow
Thanks for the updates. Great insight into how well the club is run from top to bottom. The scouting and recruitment is key and the fact they are looking to keep agents as happy to open the chances to further players and making it easier for them to buy into Hearts shows how much thought is gone into the club. No small detail overlooked. Having one person in Claire Cowan who helps overseas players settle is a good addition. The book soccernomics talks about the issue where clubs pay big fees but don't help a player settle into a place. Yet that can make a big difference whether a player will be a hit or not. It may sound trial but even something as everyday as how do you pay council tax may be second nature to us but if you have come to a new country and not able to speak much of the language, it can be a struggle and with other things play on your mind. mainstandjambo
Robbie and Craig were asked about how they go about improving their development. Robbie said that he was doing his pro licence at the moment and was attending a 2 day course on Sunday and Monday. He also said that he had been down to Manchester United last season to take in their training and he has also been to Chievo and Levante. Craig said he had attended a conference in Manchester along with other directors of football.
