1948 probably never play there again as cup games likely to be switched to a bigger stadium.

When was the last time we played Morton at Cappielow, mid-80's??

Would love to draw them in the cup this year, an away tie at a proper old school ground.

It's got character.  Cappielow that is, not Greenock.  It has hundreds of characters all equally horrible.

Just think, this thread may be revisited in 10 years time when people say, ' when was the last time we visited Easter road?'

1985-08-20 Montrose 3-1 A

1987-12-26 Greenock Morton 0-0 A

So of the current teams those have gone the longest without a game against us.

Are you sure the list is accurate?  Arbroath shouldn't be on the list as we played them earlier this season, nor should Albion Rovers who we played in the 1998 cup run. Also played East Stirling in the 1984 League Cup and Montrose in the 1989 League Cup.

Edit: My mistake - Should be looking at Away games only (?)

Apologies for going slightly off topic but always astonished me that our Cup tie at Stranraer in 2007 was our first ever competitive visit to Stair Park. Incredible considering both clubs have been around since the 1870's.

It has not changed much that's for sure. Memories of Donald Ford scoring a hat trick of penalties, Alfie Conn Junior scoring a screamer and winning a cup replay against a good Morton team.

I thought we might have played them in the late 80's or early 90's at Medowbank, Personally id love a visit up the road at new broomfield or doon the road at Cliftonhill,(but i would be very very surprised if we drew albion rovers and it wasn't moved because there is shithole stadiums and then there is cliftonhill)

Played Meadowbank at brockville in the mid-80s, in the league cup . Malky Murray played, that's how long ago that was

We were drawn "away" to MT in the League Cup, '88/89 iirc, but it was switched to Brockville.

I think L&B police ruled out Hearts, Hibs, Celtic and Rangers ever playing at Meadowbank. Both Rangers and Hibs had to play them at Tynecastle in Cup games in the '80's.

Shanks said no

Cliftonhill only has a capacity of around 1200 so I would say even a LC game would be moved. Took my boy there about 5 years ago for a game v East Stirlingshire, real eye opener for my son who had only ever been to all seaters at that time. Much of the ground, 3 sides, was roped off as unsafe.

I was at the Brechin game in '92. Hearts really made heavy weather of it and I recall Frank Connor having a right ding-dong with a fan behind the dug-out.

Hearts were dire to watch that season.

As regards Peterhead sorry if been mentioned, when did Hearts last play Peterhaed? Seem to remember playing at the old ground years ago either a testimonial or a pre season friendly?

August 1989 and yes, it was a Friendly/Testimonial.

I was there when we played them in a friendly at their shite hole on 7th September 2004. Robbie Neilson was playing :)

Played them (East Fife) in a friendly before the start of last season as well, Osman Sow's first outing for the club.

I'm posting this from the future. 2025 to be exact.

Anyone remember when we used to play at Fester Road? It's been a while...

It's got character.  Cappielow that is, not Greenock.  It has hundreds of characters all equally horrible.

Are you from Balmoral?! Greenock is a nice place, the people are OK too, you might be confusing it with Paisley which is an ordure orifice.

One of the best Hearts matches I ever saw was a 3-3 Cup match at Cappielow in 60's. Hope Morton come up again.

We haven't played at Airdrie's new ground

Not in a competitive game but we did in a friendly, think it was around 2004. We drew 1-1 with Graham Weir scoring for us.

Apologies for going slightly off topic but always astonished me that our Cup tie at Stranraer in 2007 was our first ever competitive visit to Stair Park. Incredible considering both clubs have been around since the 1870's.

no need to apologise ... Stair Park sure was worth the wait.

Longest trip in Scotland for us, glorious views, packed and colourful stadium, 4-0, what a brilliant day out that was ...

Haha no im actually from a couple of miles up the road from paisley and actually it is on par with greenock. It makes me laugh how they both try to outdo each other.
