I'm away on a stag so cant make it, but was down in 2006 (cant believe that was 9 years ago, was only 19 ffs...).

If I remember rightly the weather was absolutely incredible that day, don't remember much of the game though after consuming a fair whack of bevvy before k/o.....

Preston itself was an absolute hole though!!

Interesting to note at the end of the article where it says that further pre season announcements shortly.

I went in 2006 and didn't appreciate being herded like animals into the pub of plods choice, being denied freedom to move around the place (pub was under police guard) and we were then given a rather aggressive escort to the ground.

It was shit tbh.

Didn't experience any of that, was in a nice beer garden for the afternoon and strolled to the game. Big police presence was needed as there was a huge Hearts mob that day who had made a weekend of it down in nearby Blackpool.

Me & couple mates got the train and were met at the station by the police. Went from there direct to the pub designated for us (couldn't drink in any other pubs) and we were marched to the ground. It didn't bother me to be honest. Probably only issue was it was too hot!

Seriously considering this. Could be a good day and another stadium to tick off the list

Brilliant. 4 of us going. Set up the tent in a camp site in the lakes on the way down...ready made for a chilled sesh after the match . All good.

Jam Tarts 1874

Hottest day I've ever watched football match on.

No police or pub problems as we were there very early.

To me it looked like there were more Hearts' fans than home support.

Best bit for me was the Tannoy guy struggling with the Lithuanian names.

The stand behind the goal that we were situated in acted like an oven was ridiculous how hot it was that day.

It was a bit strange when we got off the train. I thought they were either expecting a load of nutjobs or just wanted to give us a talking to on arrival. But then to get marched to a pub and then from the pub marched to the ground all seemed just a bit over the top. Anyway, it happened and that is the repeat trip now booked, and this time we can take them some flowers for when they meet us.

Sure I watched Hubz lose to some Swedish team in the Inter Toto after the game. Some dodgy pub down some dodgy street in Preston.

Hibs played in Preston not long after we did and caused a load of bother, we can look forward to the same police treatment again methinks.

Why's everyone excited for this? Preston is a complete dive!

So's Cowdenbeath but it was still a good day out in the pub and a match thrown in :)
