Referee's a homer.

There was actually a bit of controversy about him as he had Facebook posts cheering on Argentina in a previous tournament. He deleted his Facebook. Colombian.

I only started watching a few minutes ago but Chile are all over them.

And Argentina should have black Adidas stripes on their tops.

Wasn't aware of that.

Looks like he's over-compensating tonight.

Argentina have had the better chances.

They're getting away with murder on fouling

The ref is obviously under orders not to dish out the cards aswell, a few blatant yellows being ignored.

This has actually been a really crap game of football.

Probably right there.

If it wasn't for the fact that it sounds like the entire crowd have been in the pub for hours...it would be worse.

Just putting it out there but got a gut feeling that Luca biglia will have a key role in the result

Certainly they have picked it up. I switched it on for the last 15 of the first half.

Pretty much the way in Sourh American football. I remember when Brazilian and Argentinian club matches used to be on late night. Shocking fouls in every game. And I was shocked at how rotten Brazilian football was.

Terrible game, I need the Argies to win in normal time for a decent lift, but it's not happening!

That through ball from Messi deserved a goal.

Woukd have been a great ball for Higuain but Lavezzi decided to charge after it even though he was 2 yards off, twat.

What a fantastic setting for a major international game.  The open stadium looks fantastic, wish I was there.

There was a camera shot at the start of the game with the stadium and the Andes in the background....incredible scene.

I am sure there will be lots of debate after this game regarding Messi.  In my opinion he has once again failed spectacularly at international level.

This is a game he should have been taking by the scruff of the neck, however his positional play and trying to run straight through defenders all evening has made him look rather mediocre.

As committed as Chile are, Maradonna would have torn them a new one.

I'm not quite sure how all 22 players have managed to remain on the pitch

Alexi Sanchez must be druugged out his brain or have amazing energy levels. Quite incredible he can sustain this after how heard he worked at arsenal last season

Bringing on Higuain was a predictable and poor decision. Him to miss a penalty in the shootout.

How does a guy in Chile end up getting a really shite name like Gary anyway?[emoji1]

Plus they leave Tevez on the bench.

Cast No Shadow

Good stuff. They were a joy at the World Cup last year and were very unfortunate against Brazil.

How bad are Argentina  Higuain should have won it in the final kick of the 90. Turgid team to watch.
