It's pretty evident that Ann Budge realises the point in ethical business practise. It's great to keep reading these positive initiatives, as a supporter.

Looks like an excellent bit of publicity. Especially having the First and Deputy First Minister launching one of their flagship policies at Tynecastle.

Should get a bit of a mention on news channels today all positive for the club and more importantly the employees.

Strange time for this to be published but it's yet more good news nonetheless: http://www.heartsfc.co.uk/news/4359

Nothing strange about the timing. The business pledge launches today and its an opportunity for free advertising for Heart of Midlothian FC. Mrs Budge is one talented lady.

1st Minister quite rightly launches initiative to get the Living Wage accepted by all business, and where is this to happen?

Tynecastle.

A measure of how well we are run and what an example we are. Another example of how far we've come in the last year!

Great stuff all round.

Oh, I know it launches today, but I'd have expected it to be published later in the morning rather than at the stroke of midnight.

Still, it's irrelevant now.

Dont know if this is good or bad time will tell. Fan ownership appears to be part of initiative but I would argue there's a large number like myself who are happy to pledge but don't want outright fan ownership, I only pledged to help save the club.

I also don't think Hearts should have allowed any political statements to be made from Tynecastle as it appears to have happened.

I've not read any of the copy, what statement has been made that's political?

What political statement has been made do you think?

One assumes its regarding the Sturgeon press conference, attacking the UK government spending proposals.

Skilful and appropriate move by the club, as we're getting used to.

btw there is NOTHING political about hosting an event led by the First Minister -- or the Prime Minister for that matter.

Any sensible business or organisation would do it, given half the chance.

Top-rate publicity for the club, as well as being the right thing to do by the staff.

Don't take offence But maybe you don't want outright fan ownership as you don't fully understand the proposed model..

In real terms nothing will change in terms of how the club is run today, the fans will elect a board to run the club for a defined duration, ann budge has indicated she may stand for election when the fans own the club outright.. There will be no referendum on day to day decisions.

So basically we will never have a scenario where we have a clad or a Chris Robinson who cannot be removed and we will have a fan subsidy used to grow the club equivalent to the entire income of most spl clubs

Are the (small number of) mouth breathers complaining about this doing the same with regards to the work done by Ian Murray for the Foundation of Hearts?

You're right.

Screw them all. Pay staff nothing. Embezzle all the money, let the company go bankrupt and go into liquidation.

Much better.

Thanks for the links guys.

I've read the comments; unless people expect a politician to say nothing at these sorts of events then I can only imagine political bias would make anyone say these comments aren't acceptable. They're thoroughly bland and standard for an event like this.
