Drewboy
FFP! That makes appalling reading. Tottenham and Swansea are the shining lights out of them all. The amount of wages is astronomical!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Spellczech
How can you claim to make a profit when you are so far in debt?"profit" refers only to trading position for the last year. "Debt" in above effectively means retained losses, ie sum of all profits or losses for every year since formation of the business. Although likelihood is that all Chelsea's debt, or at least vast majority is since Ambramovich's arrival.

Hungry hippo
How can you claim to make a profit when you are so far in debt? How not? The profit or loss refers to the previous 12 months. A profit doesn't mean everything is all rosy but it's still correct and relevant.

Jambos_1874
The OP highlights just how ridiculous the EPL is. Swansea have a match day revenue of ?9.2m but they get an absolutely massive ?80.7m from TV!!! When you look at their average attendance of 20k compared to Hearts (I'm guessing around 14-15k this season?) it isn't significantly different, although I acknowledge that over the course of the season it all adds up. But, just by being in the EPL, they get around nine times what they earn from match day revenue - it is absolutely madness.

Jambos_1874
It must drive the OF mental. Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink It does amuse me how much that winds up OF fans but, putting aside my utter hatred of both clubs, it is crazy that two clubs of that size can't compete with the likes of Burnley and Swansea when it comes to finances. Of course they are in a different league in a small country but the whole logic (or lack thereof) of football finances just doesn't make sense. All those armchair fans have a lot to answer for!! Franco Fascione
Cheats Exactly. I don't hear 'that lot' shouting from the rooftops about these clubs being cheats...... and seeing as no one has been able to come up with a proper definition of sporting integrity, then in my book any club with debt who wins anything must be a cheat. Poseidon
It's all relative though. Our ?30m odd debt was more problematic as it was about 3.5-4 times our income whilst Chelsea's (whilst massive) is only 3 times their income
