He looked well and tanned. But still very thin in the face. All the best to him.

Saw him slowly walking to the car park at the old Tynecastle high school. Shame to see anyone that age struggle so bad.

It would be nice to know if the club did make a donation i am sure a few of us would make a donation to his fund.

Much as we don't like the club he played against us for its fair to say we are a caring bunch who would make a gesture and show our support

Tragic for such a young guy to be struck down with this illness

ps

The club he played for is extinct

It is an ex-club.

They died.

You know what I meant. .

Even from the comments on here you can tell that we support a man and a cruel illness

Football brings us together (well most of us)

I hope he enjoyed his day. We did have a whip round here roundabout the time of the rangers match in his honour though. I thought it was a nice touch although i forgot about it when i was paid so never got round to donating

All the best to him but has he paid back his EBT's yet?

I don't think there is any requirement for him to pay anything back.

The guy in the wheelchair on the pitch is Robert Wilson(If that's who you were meaning). He recently resigned his Directors position with Hearts due to health reasons. We, along with others used to walk down to the ground from "The Gilly" together. Robert was very much involved in setting up the SPL and has no doubt been a fantastic guy to have at Tynie this current season. His blood is maroon through and through.

As mentioned elsewhere he was a guest of the board and the club have supported MNDS.

A couple of months ago (can't remember which game - possibly Hibs or Rangers) the club gave free advertising to MNDS on the electronic boards around the pitch and in the match programme, and has a feature on the charity and on the personal connection with our director, Robert Wilson.

I didn't realise we had already donated. It was good to see that he was invited and even better to see that he accepted the invitation.

A nice story on an emotional day.

Really upsetting when a young guy like him contracts something as devastating as that.

I wish that man nothing but the very best.

Passed him by outside the players entrance, didn't realise who was approaching until he passed, wish him all the best in his battle against such a cruel disease

Oh my.

He was never a prick though was he?

Is that what Jordan said?

Drink driving: guilty.

BoP and Assault: guilty.

But not a prick...

EBT was classed by HMRC as a loan, therefore to be repaid during life or on death.

And as seen today he is still alive.

No wonder this place is going to the ****ing dogs when threads such as this are hijacked by people point scoring about who hates Rangers & Ricksen most.

Fair enough. I just want to see every EBT repaid.

Why?

/sorry for he thread drift/

A proud and deserved day for a guy devoted to hearts. I hope he recovers.

I hope he had a great day. I wouldn't wish that terrible disease on the most despicable of people. I wish him nothing but the very best.

Weird post. Personally I'd rather he kept it and used it to get the best treatment he possibly can, rather than dragging a dying man through a legal battle. Maybe that's just me, though.

Two faced *******

Spends all his time trying to damage our club then wants help to fund his own enterprises/interests...not a penny should be given.

My favourite Ricksen story was when he got caught watching a porno on his laptop on a flight.

End of the day, Ricksen was no different from a list of other players at different clubs. We loved to hate him, he was a controversial figure but ultimately, he was passionate about the club he played for. Every club would love a Fernando Ricksen.

I really didn't like him as a player but what he's going through is really horrible and I wish him nothing but the best in dealing with his illness.

Great gesture by the club too. I wonder if Rangers or any other club for that matter would do the same for someone like Skacel if that were the scenario.

Recently resigned director of the club.

Really good to see him on the pitch as I know he's been fairly unwell. Diamond guy as well.

Used to stand near Robert in the Diggers on a match day and was shocked to see him so ill yesterday.

A horrible illness.

Best wishes.
