The Paille Man

Having written regularly for fanzines when I was younger, the current season has rekindled my love of football writing and as a result, I've started my own Hearts-themed blog at http://maroonspecs.squarespace.com.

If you have a moment, please give it a read and feel free to leave any feedback, good or bad. I hope to keep this up on a regular basis and, in keeping with the attitude of our manager and squad this season, the best approach is to constantly aim to improve, which I hope to do with each article.

That's a great read, puts me in mind of the writing on Tell Him He's Pele. Look forward to more of it!

Cheers mate. As for the derby goals, there's an article in the offing. Expect it to come out in the build-up to the Easter Road trip!

Nice blog, keep it up Paille Man

Reminded me of a blog I wrote for a couple of seasons at the start of the Romaniv era . Surprised to see it is still kicking about on the internet http://jambosforever.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1

Would be interesting to see how different the world looks now to how it did then.

Another very good read and good points which I agree with.

However I hate to be a pedant but I believe Hamill joined Killie on 2nd June, Gary Locke joined Killie 20th June so GL did not take Hamill to Killie with him. (I do get your point though)

Great read mate. I remember at the time not being too upset about Locke being let go, but I was a bit concerned with the appointment of Robbie, mainly because I wanted someone with experience to come in.

That said, I wasn't about to get upset about it because I had a lot of confidence in Levein, And if he rated Robbie, then that was good enough for me. I could see what Levein did for the club last time and what he did for United too; he's no daft.

Haha! Fair point, and something I never actually considered while mid-rant/type. Now that I think about it more, even if Locke was there, it would've been Allan Johnston's call.

The unfortunate thing about blogs is you don't have an editor to haul you up on these important facts. I'll have a wee rethink and give it an edit where appropriate. If the national papers can get away with it on their websites, so can I.

Appreciate all the feedback!

Great read again. As for the Hamill point, I'm fairly sure Alan Johnston will have spoken with Locke before Hamill was signed and Locke will definitely recommended him for the Jurassic football mentality! Like you say, good luck Gary but we definitely dodged a bullet!

Piece amended slightly to correct the Hamill error. Site itself is still "in development" but has been updated with a front page containing all the posts made so far. Thanks again for the positive feedback!

Plug time!

Some of the reaction to yesterday's defeat has been OTT to say the least. If you are still finding yourself full of inexplicable rage about losing a meaningless game, have seat, relax and have a read:

Derby-based article now up on the site, entitled "A Step-By-Step Guide to Absolutely Dominating Your City Rivals". See above link.

Mods, could I get the title of the thread edited to reflect the new derby article please?

Been a while since I plugged this on Kickback, so here's the latest piece, which includes comment on Carrick, dodgy Dublin puns and opinions on Kevin McHattie that the resident boo-boys on here may find offensive.
