After Tonev ... the Griffiths case?

When do you think the polis will get round to reviewing the video evidence of Lee's wee sing song in the Raeburn Bar ?

Maybe once the Thumb has left Celtic?

I imagine once they've solved all the really important crimes first.

They don't exactly have to solve this one, the evidence is there for them to review.

By your logic, there should be no police out watching for speeding and / or drunk motorists until they've brought in Bible John.

Or they could just drop their investigation if they don't think it is important enough. Or they could offer him a caution. Or pass the files to the procurator fiscal to decide if there is a case to answer based on the evidence. Then that would free the SFA to deal with it as a football matter.

Was only a matter of time before people started droning on about this case again.

It will be resolved, it's not a conspiracy, give it a rest.

Really, really tiresome. The OP makes a good point. Will they fill Celtic Park with a "rally" ? Albert Speer, I hear is a Tim.

Let him get away with it scot free.  Is that what you're saying?

How can you come to that conclusion from what he said?

It will (eventually) get dealt with by the police/courts, I'll wait until then to consider getting myself all worked up over it.

The polis have reported it to the PF and it is them who are dragging the process out (as usual).

Posting on a thread you have no interest in is just attention seeking.

As for Griffiths I sadly think this will never go to court. If it was a fan accused of this I don't think it would've taken quite so long.

It was a fair point, this topic gets brought up a lot as some example of a pro Celtic conspiracy. It's not. Pointing this out isn't attention seeking in the slightest.

The John Terry case took almost a year to go through remember.

I disagree. If you think a threads boring why not just avoid it. Or you can tell people to give it a rest. I think the former is more polite. There are mods who will remove unnecessary threads.

I'm sure the same could be said about calling people's posts out as attention seeking.

I'm sure you could if you're not very clever or a shit stirrer. I'm sure that's not the case with you though Ross. Anyway, off to work. Have a nice day.

But he didn't say it was boring, comments were more aimed at telling folk not to get their knickers in a twist. The matter will be dealt with in due course, unfortunately our legal system is not a slick well oiled machine, all points are entirely on subject.

One flaw in the OPs logic not pointed out yet is the only similarity in the cases is the alleged racism the Tonev case was wholly under the remit of the SFA which allowed for quicker action. The afore mention legal issues are why the SFA have not acted yet.

However you bash on with telling folk what they can and can't post champ

Rudolf's Mate

Do the polis not have a year from the complaint to investigate and bring charges??

Used to be 1yr from being charged to bring it to court.

the police can not simply 'drop' an enquiry because 'they' deem it not to be important enough...and this isnt England so no such thing exists as giving out a 'caution'...all hate crimes are prioritised so matters should be dealt correctly albeit the due process takes longer than is ideal at times...

Cant remember what Griffiths charge is but 50% of the offensive behaviour at (or around)football matches charges that go to court get thrown out.

Anyway ... I don't think he has been charged.

Aren't they waiting until the police review the evidence ?

Didn't expect I'd raise a sh'tstorm

They are waiting on him to move to hibs then he'll get a fine and a five game ban. The seethe on .Net will be fantastic.

That would be absolutely wonderful.

I will take the Griffiths issue seriously on here when people stop demanding action over his alledged racism- then utterly without irony call people "Tims"

People who use the term 'Tims' are racists now?!?!

I work with about 20 of the barstewards who, almost to a man, refer to themselves as 'Tims'.

I'll need to try and remember to tell them that they're racially abusing themselves next time I hear one of them say it :D

Nah. Celtic fans refer to themselves as such. The term 'Tim' came from a Glasgow gang in the early 1900's called the 'Timalloys', apparently.

HIBS-daft Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths offered to save a five-year-old?s Christmas despite him and his dad being diehard Hearts fans.

The player heard about the family?s situation after seeing posts on Facebook about a robbery which saw a callous thief make off with Christmas present money on Monday night.

Moved by the thought of little Shane having no presents, the 24-year-old former Hibbee contacted dad Michael and offered to buy video games for the youngster?s beloved Playstation.

He wrote: ?Heard about the story of your house getting broken into. What games did you want for the little man and il buy them for you.

?It?s a hard time of year for people to lose stuff and I?d like to help.?

Dad Michael, a Hearts season ticket holder, replied: ?Wow! You were the last person I ever expected to send me a message lol your generosity touches me but we have it covered.

?Thank you very much mate.?

A good article on BBC Sport from Tom English on the Tonev case...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30510599

I especially liked this bit in response to accusations of a 'kangaroo court' from some Celtic fans...

Let's be clear about this. The "kangaroo court" was chaired by Lord Bonomy, a former Senator of the College of Justice, a judge of the Supreme Courts of Scotland, Senior Counsel to the Dunblane Inquiry and a former judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, a position he was appointed to by the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan.

He presided over the trial of Milan Milutinovic, the former Serbian president and was involved in preparations for the trial of Radovan Karadzic, the Bosnian Serb leader. In determining the rights and wrongs of the Tonev case, who are we to put our faith in - Bonomy or Broonie? A man who has been an advocate for more than 40 years or the legal Goliaths that are Deila and Brown?

Absolutely correct.

Absolute nonsense. If it was a fan it would never have gone this far.

If you're that bothered, write to the PF.
