Yup can see him being out for a while.

Just as well we have Eckersley!

Who strolled it when he came on. Great to have such depth.

"Finally, Robbie revealed Hearts will be waiting on more news from Kevin McHattie?s injury, with the left-back succumbing to a knee injury sustained in a hefty challenge from Kenny Miller at the start of the second half.

However, he was keen to stress that the squad had the quality to cope, which was proven today by a side missing key players still managing to ensure victory against their nearest title challengers.

?Kevin?s going for a scan, he?s got a bad knock on his knee so we?ll try and find out how bad the damage is," he said.

"Luckily, we have Adam Eckersley who can come in. He?s been really good for us and he was unfortunate to find himself out of the team, so we know we have the quality to cope.

?The players are back in tomorrow morning at 9:30, but I?ve given them a day off on Monday. It?s a special treat for winning today. Well, only some of them are off, not everyone!"

Would be gutted for the lad if that's the case, hopefully it's not as bad as first feared. Thankfully we have Eck and also Wilson (once he's fit!) who can cover there in emergencies should we need to.

I am not sure luck had much to do with it.

I would argue luck had a lot to do with it, lucky his leg isn't ****ing broken. Miller is also lucky he stayed on the park.

Miller is a typical oid firm thug who should have hung up his boots a couple of years ago but looking for a last payday before he buys a pub in Glasgpw

today was nothing to do with luck, they went out to kick us off the park, could easily have been more injuries!

correct Gav, I think most of us knew that would be the game plan, it wasn't long into the game that it was clearly the plan and yet the officials did nothing to take control of it which is the awful part, these guys are the future of Scottish football and what respect are they shown from the SFA elite...feck all, it is unbelievable, Rangers yes as they needed to win that game today but the Officials, really poor.

The great guy Pierluigi Collina always knew going into a game, the ins and outs of each player and as such knew what to look out for and it gave him respect from the players, I don't think these officials even look at the team sheet.

He did. I really like Eckersley. He's not as good going forward with the ball as McHattie but he is a really solid left back.

Some on here claiming our squad was to big earlier in the season are being proven wrong.

Gomis needs to play less of a hospital pass next time! Shame he will be out as he is a great attacking force down the left

How unlucky can one team be with injuries

The way Rangers played today, we were actually lucky. It could have been more than six weeks, and one player. Some of their fouls, which were intentiona, were potential leg breakers.

Won't know until the swelling subsidies.

As Cladia alluded too could have been more players looking at weeks out.

Eckersleys block onto the post just after we scored was crucial

Jimmy McNulty

wonder how many Rangers players are in training tomorrow (and they lost).

Good on you Robbie. Great discipline being installed in the club.

I'd forgotten all about that.

That interception was as good as a goal.

Ekersley also added a hard edge to our side. Took no s**t and dished out a little bit of what we were receiving.

Fly the Saltire

How in ****s name was it not a straight red? Oh wait???.

It was a def Red Card.  I prefer McHattie to Eckersley as in vast majority of games this season we need attacking full backs who can break down the 7 teams in the league who will just play with 10 defensive minded players

Miller is an absolute animal - disgusting tackle. The Rangers could not match us for footballing ability so had to resort to GBH. They should have finished with 8 men - black and miller should have walked.

Get well soon McHattie - great talent

Early indications from the medical team are that he has torn his medial ligament. He will be out for about 8-12 weeks. :(

Caused by complete thuggery from a spoilt brat. whos free to do it next week to someone else if he chooses.

See this yellow card cant be reviewed rubbish, its archaic (sp)

Correct but reading today's sun

Robert grieve thinks it was a fair challenge

Gutted for McHattie as he was patient waiting for his chance and slotted in nicely when he got back in the team. I hope Miller gets retrospectively punished somehow (not going to happen though).

No doubt because he touched the ball ???   On the touchline ,in Hearts half, ?   designed to do damage for sure, doubt a guy in the game as long as him was desperate to win a throw in or stop a punt up park

Snake Plissken

Jack and Victor both should have been off for their lunges but Thomson shat it big time.

Shame for McHattie as he played well against Falkirk and was having a good game against Rangers.  At least we have a very capable replacement in Eckersley.

The Apprentice

Thomson wouldn't have hesitated to even up the numbers if say, Gomis had put in a tackle like Boyd or Miller.

might be out for a few months but could have been far worse.

most countries certainly from watching European games that's a foul and a red every time.

It was a petulant, things aren't going my way, career threatening lash out for which red cards are meant to act as a deterrent. The false bravado, ultra slow strutt off when he was hooked having just done what he did with only concern for himself, is a measure of his character. What I'm trying to say is erm, well - he's a chunt. Incidentally, the Sun has an audience that it is playing to - so wouldn't bother reading or worrying about what their "journalists" opinions of anything are.
