Bauld
Why did i know that El Hass was going to get ripped from the off here. In the first 35 minutes we barely showed up even with then going to 10 men, He had no service at all and Holt was playing really poor. He took a massive hit near the end of the half and i heard he was still getting treatment at half time, He was subbed because he didn't recover. For me Keatings brings much more to the team but El Hass held the ball up well enough and spread it out wide from deeper positions but he never had anything to attack in the box at all. Strikers are there to score goals and he was never given a single chance in the time he was on.
graham
The whole team outstanding! For a team with no real forwards on the pitch and a game that they never had to chase for victory they kept the ball superbly and there patience paid off. Snake Plissken
Alexander 8 - a crucial save and first class handling throughout. Paterson 8 - battling performance and a threat down the wings Ozturk 8 - getting better every week McKay 7 - didn't win everything in the air but stuck to the task well McHattie 7 - another fine display, hope the injury isn't serious King - 6 gave his all and unlucky with a few flicks, kept quiet Gomis - 7 always available for a pass Pallardo - 7 a few loose balls but showed a lot of quality Holt - 7 iffy first half but a fantastic finish and got better as the game went on Walker - 7 cool finish for the penalty and really start to trouble Rangers in the second half El Hassanoui - 5 isolated for much of the game, just didn't happen for him subs Eckersley - 7 slotted in perfectly Keatings - 6 created half-chances from nothing, hope he gets a start soon McGhee - kept the shape

He made quite a few runs trying to get in behind because Rangers were playing with a high line. Every time he was either ignored or the midfielder held onto the ball too long and he ran himself offside. Bringing Keatings on for him was the right sub to make, but I wouldn't be too harsh on El Hass.
Watt-Zeefuik
Alexander did much more than make a few saves -- he controlled the box at critical times when it looked to devolve into a scramble. I thought El Hass had a pretty good work rate but agree he simply lacks a lot when he's the lone striker. Keatings also did much more in defense in pressuring their back line and forcing them into more long hoofs. Pallardo's ability to win the ball and turn with possession was outstanding today. He didn't always put in good passes after doing so but he absolutely disrupted many Rangers build-ups.

Coco
Ozturk keeps getting better and better for me now he's up to the pace of the game here. Some great passes both long and short. Otherwise Mackay, Pallardo, Paterson, Walker and Keatings best for me. Thought Billy King worked hard but constantly moved infield when we had the ball and compressed the game. Don Dan
Alexander 9- commanded the game by hois talking and presence. A big plus for at the back. Paterson 8 - strong, fast going forward, had Wallace in his back pocket. Mchattie - 8 good game such a pity he took a sore one from the Bauld Edgit. McKay - 9 - played really well impressed me no end.m Ozturk 9 MOM Pallardo 9- made us tick today along with Gomis. Gomis 7 - good but the physicality of the mid field put him on the back foot. IMO King 6- all ways threatened but needs a rest.m Holt 8 -great goal and proved his detractors wrong. Made some great passes and runs out to the wing. Walker 8- great run and well taken penalty. El Hass 4 - took a knock which resulted in the substitution. Touch still a bit out needs to take a rest on the bench to improve him.
CJGJ
It was a day for the unsung players in the squad Good performances from those in defence.....Ozturk and McKay along with Paterson played well. Pallardo had his best game and looked finally what had been intimated from the management team..along with Gomis they grafted when required. The flair players just did not really perform and we rarely got to the bye line and caused them danger until late on. :shitwine:
Alexander - made some good saves - 7. Great passing and tackling, and so much energy - 8. Walker - got very little change in the 1st half, but dominated a tired McGregor towards the end - 7. Holt - quiet first half, but worked his way into the game. Great finish - 7. King - another game that mostly passed him by. Gets caught in the middle too often - 5. El Hassnaoui - pretty lost on his own. Showed nice touches, but fell out of the game after picking up knock - 4. Eckersley - did what was needed - 5. Debut 4
Alexander 7 wonderful save right after opener Paterson 8 early doors he was one of few showing the right application. Every aspect of his game was spot on today. Ozturk 8 this guy has progressed so quickly from unsure defender to accomplished. Verging on a colossus for us. MacKay 8 won headers, threw himself in front of everything, calm and assured on the ball. Terrific. McHattie 6 still doesn`t see the overlap enough for me but had a decent match ........................ Walker 7 calm penalty, came alive more late in the game Gomis 7 focal point of the team week in week out. Pallardo 7 strong, quick mind in possession and some timely interventions. Holt 7 neat and tidy but showed what he can bring with the goal. King.. 6 took time to find his courage and came more into it later. .............. El Hass 5 nothing of note. Tried to get involved but too little movement didn`t help his cause.

ERJEAN51
We only started playing when they went down to 10 men, but even then we weren't great as Rangers didn't give us any time on the ball. A better second half performance, and we kept the ball well, must've been around 50 passes at one point until Moshni broke down the play. A good three points none-the-less. Alexander - 7 - Didn't have an awful lot to do, but solid enough. Paterson - 6 - Up and down, still has a tendency to do daft things, was caught out by Wallace a few times in the first half. McHattie - 6 - Defended well, composed on the ball. McKay - 8 - Unlucky with header, got a few forearms to the face from Daly Ozturk - 8 - Strolled the game Gomis - 6 - Played a bit better after the sending off, was sitting too deep and got caught on the ball more that usual Walker - 6 - Didn't have a great game on the whole. Pallardo - 8 - Seemed composed, broke up their play well. El Hassanoui - 3 - Headless chicken, not sure he is an out and out striker. at one point he ran into Moshni wasn't even looking at the ball. Needs to do a bit more. Hopefully this will come though. Holt - 6 - Linked up play going forward, sweet strike for the goal King - 5 - Nothing really worked for him today, didn't get on the ball enough Subs Eckersley - 6 - Played well when he came on, unlucky to be booked for first tackle. Great block from Foster. Keatings - 6 - We played much better when he came on, changed the game with his movement McGhee - 2 - Not sure he even touched the ball but looked up for it the way he sprinted onto the pitch. R1874
Alexander - 7 - Solid. Made saves that I'd expect him to and dealt with crosses as well. Patterson - 8 - Absolutely wonderful. Defended well and got forward at the right times. Was willing to run at them and beyond. Some wonderful crosses and is incredible in the air. Ozturk - 7 - Full of confidence and defended really well. Moreover, he is pretty good on the ball which makes SUCH a difference. McKay - 7 - What a difference! He's playing with more confidence. He is reading the game better and coped with two experienced strikers. McHattie - 6 - Wasn't all that impressed. Hopefully he is back soon but he has had better games at both ends of the pitch. Gomis - 7 - Another classy performance Pallardo - 8 - Very impressive. He did the defensive side of the game and showed composure on the ball. It would be a shame to see him back on the bench when Bauben is fit. King - 6 - Too often he comes narrow. Yes it leaves space for Paterson but he needs to be more intelligent. Holt - 6 - Wonderful goal but I'm still not sure what his best position is and in what formation. He didn't get in the game at all but great goal nonetheless. Walker - 6- Did well for the pen and delighted he got a goal. El Hass - 4 - The tackle from Black and the overall physical nature of the game didn't suit him. I'm not sure I'm convinced he is a lone striker either. I'm delighted about the result. We were far from perfect but won the game without key players. Patterson man of the match for me

Patterson man of the match for me Exactly the numbers I'd give. Paterson was different class today, as was Pallardo.
Jamhammer
Alexander - 7 - Did what he had to do. Distribution is excellent. Get the feeling he makes the defence feel more confident. Paterson - 7 - Could have perhaps got forward a bit more but ran his socks off. McHattie - 7 - Defended well, Hope injury not serious. McKay - 8 - Right choice from Robbie. Knew we were in for an aerial bombardment. Nearly scored too. Ozturk - 8 Really looked the part today. Getting better every week. Gomis - 7. Better in the 2nd half. Didn't deserve the booking. Walker - 7 - Wrong choices a couple of times first half but earned the pen and tucked it away. Pallardo - 9 - Great game. Top signing.. El Hassanoui - 5 - Not fit. Gave away stupid fouls and didn't really contribute a lot. Can't play the lone striker role. Holt - 7 - Lovely strike King - 6 - Not great today. Subs Eckersley - 7 - Real competition for McHattie, who has admitted as much. Keatings - 7 - Should have started IMO but I trust in Robbie's judgement. McGhee - 5 - No time
LeftBack
I was at the game but have since read reports and other fan's views. Therefore my opinions have changed. Alexander - 1 - Not as good as Oxley Paterson - 1 - Couldnt lace Stevenson's boots McHattie - 1 - Wallace made the right choice McKay - 1 - Moshini made him look like an amateur Ozturk - 1 - You joking? Young Forster is new Beckenbuer and McCulloch taught him everything he knew. Gomis - 1 - GTF Black owned him Walker - 1 - A very, very, very poor Alex Harris Pallardo - 1 - Who? Scott Allan will be Inestia's replacement. El Hassanoui - 1 - Only one El. El Alagui. Holt - 1 - Have you SEEN Kenny Miller?????????? King - 1 - Templeton (if played) would have put him in his place. DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON NIELSEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tactically poor and substitutes were awful.
H2
Alexander - 8 no prolems, made it all look easyPaterson - 9 MOTM today. stood off one tackle whne could have easily given away a pen.McKay - 8 Never put a foot wrong, well impressedOzturk - 8 another smashing game, looking for opportunities, really good on the ballKing - 7 cam on to a better game 2nd half, a little inexperience showd early on.Pallardo - 9 could have been MOTM but for that stupid foul that got him booked, seems to have a tendency for that.....Robbie needs a word in his ear.Gomis - 9 great games from this man are the norm.Holt - 7 smashing strike, but missing most of first halfWalker - 7 pretty similar to KingEl Hassnoui - 7 He worked hard. letsalldothebeattie
Alexander - 7 cool head and made couple good saves Paterson - 8 great to have him back. Was great going forward solid in defence and sent that beauty of a ball in for Holt goal ?zturk- 7 solid afternoons work for him. Not too far away with drive from distance 2nd half McKay - 8 didn't think he'd start but put in a terrific shift won everything in the air and unlucky not to score with header McHattie - 7 solid until Miller broke him in well would say late tackle but that would be kind to the pensioner. King - 7 decent today took Wallace on well but not enough for my liking but a good player to have. Pallardo - 9 the boy was fantastic today. Been impressed last 2 game with the wee man. Put in a shift today. Gomis - 7 does this boy panic? So composed on the ball great to have his calm head in the midfield Walker - 8 was poor and sloppy early on but really grew into side 2nd half and got his reward for his effort with pen Holt- 9 brilliant shift from the wee man today worked socks off and hit a beauty of a goal today. El Hassanoui - 5 poor simple as Subs: Keatings - 7 great impact off bench caused them problems with his runs. Also top marks for out jumping Moshni for a high ball and winning header. Eckersley- 6 solid. No messing from him today. Another good performance in maroon. McGhee - ? didn't do anything right or wrong not sure if he touched ball so can't give rating

Randle P McMurphy
Alexander - 8 Game of his life Paterson - 7 Great battle with Wallace and came out on top Ozturk - 8 Strolled it McKay - 9 Amazing. Motm McHattie - 7 Dealt well with MacLeod but game ended by an assault from Miller Pallardo - 9 A tank in midfield. So cool Gomes - 7 Sprayed passes around well King - 6 Nothing happened first half. Better second Holt - 7 Didn't kick a ball before the goal. Excellent afterwards Walker - 7 Saw the Walker of old. Very good game El Hass - 5 Didn't get involved Eckersley - 7 Slotted in well Keatings - 8 Won us the game McGhee - 6 Sensible substitution Robbie - 10 Also, just a wee mention for Lee Wallace who behaved like an absolute dick. Didn't expect it from him. Alexander, game of his life? You are joking right? He had 1 decent save otherwise rangers rarely troubled him

Uncle Buck
Alexander, game of his life? You are joking right? He had 1 decent save otherwise rangers rarely troubled him Well yeah, I was clearly exaggerating. But if you think he just made one save then you don't have two brain cells to rub together. Uncle Buck
1 decent save from law, everything else was bread and butter stuff. He made a very smart save from a Rangers free kick first half, and the save from Law was a very good one. He also commanded his area, collecting just about every cross, corner and free kick and his talking and calming influence had a massive effect on those infront of him. He was great yesterday. Definitely his best performance for Hearts.
Daveandal
Some interesting ratings. I like how people see things differently. Afterall what would we talk about in the pub if we agreed on everything. For what its worth there are my ratings. Alexander 7 (Did what he had to do and commanded his box) Paterson 8 ( Great game and very mature performance for one so young. Could go all the way to top of the game. Also very obvious he is loving playing for Hearts) McHattie 6 (Did nothing wrong but can play better. Stuck to his task well) Ozturk 7 (Coming onto a game. Looked very confident) Mckay 8 (Best game for Hearts. Strong performance. The will be to keep this level up) Parllardo 9 (MOTM - Great all game but showed his real class in the first 20 mins when we were not at our best) Gomis 6 (Our best player this season but was a little off the pace first half today and game away the ball more than normal. Came onto a game 2nd half) King 5 (Nothing seemed to come off for the lad but never game up and looked to play the correct ball at all times) Walker 6 (A little like King was seemed more comfortable on the ball and drew in a few fouls. Starting to look an intelligent player) Holt 6 (Plays with his head up which is so important and so rarely done. Just didn't seem to get into the match but in the right place at the right time. WHAT A GOAL) El Hass 5 (Not as bad as some have made out. However first touch seems very heavy) Subs Eckersley 7 (Safe and sensible. I like him but McHattie clearly has more potential. So great to have 2 players fighting for 1 position both of which we can trust) Keatings 6 (Put himself about more than El Hass. Might be time to give him a wee run if Sow continue to be out) McGee ? (No real time to judge but looked calm and assured when on the park. The most encouraging thing about yesterday was even when things were not going 100% to plan we stuck at our game plan and didn't start playing as individuals. The players clearly believe in the manager and his ethos.
