CLUB STATEMENT

October 22, 2014

Dundee United Football Club has commenced an internal investigation into the conduct of two of its players following information received by the Club.

The Club will make no further comment at this stage.

I was told the names of three players involved in the Zaluska incident on Monday evening by a journalist. This statement would suggest that the names I was given were correct.

This thread's gotten a lot shorter all of a sudden. :whistling:

Because names shouldn't be getting named I suspect.

As this may concern a criminal case please don't speculate on the identity of those involved.

I didn't intend to, but United's public statement would appear to confirm that the name(s) being banded about on social media in connection with the Zaluska incident, are indeed those who were involved to some extent.

Not speculating but why are the names a secret? Previous assaults and misdemeanours have always named players up front,so why the secrecy this time?

Even if a daily newspaper has?

Donald Findlay QC likely to represent one of the assailants?

:)

Ive heard he's retired. Pity, as he was always a good watch in court.

Nightmare for a manager dealing with issues like this. Highlights the need to sign the right kind of players - a policy Levein has been keen to emphasise.

He is of course the Chairman of the Blue Brazil

A bit of useless information but their contact Email address appears to be

[email protected]

Which is cool

On a slightly different note and back on topic.

Why are we such a bunch of bed wetters when it comes to naming someone that has already been on the front page of a National Paper?

The BBC must be bed wetters as well then as no names mentioned in their reporting this morning.

And Jim Goodwin was mentioned when the story was first reported as well, three SPFL players all in the same lane lol? Where are these lanes about?!

"As well as the players involved in the attack, St Mirren?s Jim Goodwin and Mark Wilson of Dundee United were in the lane at the time."

It's easy to be spooked when you read about people and websites being sued for discussing sensitive information so I do get it, but I do wonder what the guidelines for censorship are on here exactly, it often seems a bit random

Where are these lanes about?!

It's a street (ok it's called a lane) packed with pubs/restaurants and a cinema up the West End. Usually very busy...

Haha, okay well that explains that then, cheers! Just sounded pretty random the way it was reported.

Isn't Ashton Lane one of the poshest lanes/streets in Glasgow?

Doesnt stop you getting a kicking though?

And what is it with footballers blind siding each other when one isn't looking? McCormack v. Elliot too.

Real hard men pavement dance.

Mark Wilson? This gets more random by the minute. Never thought he'd be the type to get involved in that kind of thing.

Malcolm Tucker

Rumours are that Wilson is being investigated for being there, not being involved in the attack.

He was meant to be playing a reserve game the day after and broke his curfew.

Or, that's all bullshit and he's a big fighty maniac.

What a marvellous way to announce your departure:

?I shouldn?t even be here. I?m a professional footballer.?

James Bond would have had a much better line - "Looks like he 'saved' the best 'til last"

Put in red font by the paper:

Zaluska, 32, was assaulted in the early hours while out with wife Magdalena and another young woman

presumably to draw our attention to him heading off for a nifty threesome after a bevvy or two. Good lad. And fair play, Magdalena.

Wilson has released a statement saying he was on a night out with his wife, saw the incident, and tried to "calm things down"
