?16 million is a bargain!

30 goals in 54 games for Milan shows you he's they are getting a bargain

?16 million is a great price. Even if he acts the goat and Liverpool need to get rid, he'll not lose much value. If he becomes a success...

Great signing for Liverpool, ?16 million seems a bargain. After watching them on Sunday he looks the type of player Liverpool need as he will bang in the goals

What's Balotelli actually done wrong? He even gives out cash to randoms too. Great business for Liverpool. Rodgers will get the best out of him.

And ?5m more than Ross McCormack.

Strange days

Absolutely mental that Balotelli is only costing ?5m more than Ross McCormack.

Players playing in England are vastly over priced.

Brilliant signing for Liverpool if it happens.

Although he didn't help himself with some of his conduct at City, the guy could be world-class in the right environment.

So what exactly has he done?

Not to mention his constant run ins with Mancini at City -

Firing air pistols in a Milan piazza.

Photographed in company of Mafia mobsters.

Throwing darts at a youth player on training ground.

Set his house on fire by setting off a fire work inside.

Announces he walks around with ?5k "because I'm rich"

Etc. Etc.

It seems a silly thing to say but in todays market at ?16M it's a relativly "low risk" signing. Bags of potential and if they get his head right and he bangs them in still young enough for sell on value.

Think it's less than what they paid for Aquilani! :-)

Nothing wrong with that one imo.

Throwing darts at youth players is definitely the worst thing he's done.

I suppose it just depends if you get the guy who scored a screamer against Germany at Euro 2012, or the guy who couldn't figure out how to get the bib over his head at Man City...

If Rodgers sorts his attitude he could be the best striker around. Whether he can or not is the question, I think despite complaining about it he misses the attention he got in England.

A C Milan finished in a very low position for them and Italy didn't make it out of the group stages.

Both teams under performed and both placed their faith in Balotelli, coincidence? I think not!

I see the anti Scouse brigade are out in fashion, I'm just surprised a couple more haven't popped their heids in, but it's early days yet!

FWIW, I think on the whole, Rogers has spunked the Suarez cash over the summer and we will have a bad season, but hey just my opinion.

AC Milan are pish and if it wasn't for Balotelli's goals they would have been far worse off.

As for Italy, most of their players under performed. Not just Mario.

Everyone goes on about his goals but when he was at Man City he only had on assist all season and that was the one for the goal that won them the league.

I don't think everyone goes on about his goals at all. He's never been prolific but his Milan record is very good when you consider how bad they are right now.

?16m for a player of his ability is great value in today's market.

Mario, where's you head at? He's an emotional footballer. Has the potential to be a very good player but will he embrace Rogers' pressing system, an can he press without getting that silly yellow. If he can control his emotions and Rogers can check his ego then there is a good chance he'll be a right positive for them. He certainly has more pace than Lambert, and might actuallly be just as good in the pen taking stakes, which account for a decent percentage of his goals.

However it works out, he'll provide 'entertainment' so  from me.

I think below says it all....every week fingers wil be crossed that no news is good news..........when he wants to play he is a very good player but when not ..............

Liverpool signing Mario Balotelli as replacement for Luis Suarez like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire

Liverpool have effectively brought the circus back to town. One hopes it is more like the greatest show on earth than send in the clown

I'm sorry but anyone who saw him in a Milan shirt the past 18 months will know that's a fantastic signing, come the end of the season it may even be classed as bargain of the season.

I'm ******* gutted as I think he's great but can't stand the Micky Mousers

Shudder to think how Milan will do this season however

Edit - one point not note he's not a big name signing who will bring disharmony to the dressing room, he's a prankster but you'll not find many people he's played with who will dislike him (issues with Inter fans aside but that was due to him being a Milan fan)

When all the crap was going on with Mancini I was firmly of the opinion that MB should be booted from the City team. I've not changed my mind on that however I have changed my mind on Mancini.

Firing air pistols in a Milan piazza.

Really silly thing to do. No excuse.

Photographed in company of Mafia mobsters.

Don't think anyone can fault him for this one. Would you tell Mafioso you wouldn't have a picture taken with them?

Throwing darts at a youth player on training ground.

Yep, another silly one!

Set his house on fire by setting off a fire work inside.

 it's his house at the end of the day.

Announces he walks around with ?5k "because I'm rich"

Etc. Etc.

There are people with money who do charity work and there are people like Balotelli who go that extra mile. Yes he's loaded and flaunts it however he's earned it and whilst some of his actions/comments are cringe worthy, a lot of what he does is amusing.

I actually disliked the guy when he was at City however the more I get to know about him the more I like him.

IMO he has the potential to eclipse Suarez however I'm not convinced his head will let him. No doubt he'll do something which'll see this post come back to bite me ;)
