I want to do a food challenge that isn't just the hottest curry or whatever.
This was just an extended bump.

If I recall correctly - it was a humungous piece of haddock and a ridiculous amount of chips.....

I don't get this.
Why on earth would anyone want to stuff themsleves in under ten minutes just so they can save 15 notes?
I always thought eating was more than merely fuelling the body, and if you are going out and paying someone to cook for you then I'd want to take my time and enjoy what is presented to me.
I suppose though, I just don't get it....

I may take my time and savour the process, but when eating it's all about the taste for me.
Nutritional value, whilst relevant, doesn't register as highly as taste.

Kismot Killer is a very very hot curry but no idea how people ended up in hospital after eating it? Surely if you are going to attempt it then you should be comfortable scoffing a Ceylon or Vindaloo and the Kismot isn't hospitalisation levels of chilli above that, only thing I can thing of is that folk that normally eat Korma attempted it! Sure the Kismot are still using UK grown Dorset Naga's which despite being one of the hottest varieties in the world, when grown commercially in the UK it doesn't get anywhere near the reported million scoville units!

I suppose it's not really about the 15 notes but the massive scran. I don't know about you but when I cook chilli and get the flour tortillas out, and start rolling burritos, I can barely stop until I'm a rotund, sweating mess lying on the floor needing to be rolled to the couch for some air. So from that point of view the Conquistador challenge could be seen as being a bit of light entertainment.

The Edinburgh ones are on Morrison Street Between Dianes and the Spiders Web and the newer fancier one is on Commercial Street in Leith!

A burrito made with 3 (I think) tortillas. It fookin' massive. Stuffed with everything too. My mate, who can have 5 full platefuls in Jimmy Chungs easily (I've seen it, unfortunately) only got about 3/4's of the way through.
Jack's is a great place though, try the carnitas next time!

I was at Chop Chop recently and got the unlimited banquet, I was severely disappointed!
everytime we ordered a dish it took about 20 mins to be served and the portions werent big enough(group of 12 of us got 2 plates of 8 items).

Same here. My first and last time in chop chop. Food was nothing special, servings were miniscule for the price paid and they had the cheek to add a 10% service charge for a table of TWO.

chop chop is pish. I have eaten there a few times and never really had enough or liked it all that much and the service is hap hazard at best. dunno why its so highly rated.
back to the OP - never had it but there is a pizza shop at goldenacre that does a 1metre square pizza. £30 and needs to be ordered the day before.

It wouldn't be my cup of tea either, maybe a one off, but as you say, you miss out on all the best of eating - i.e. the taste - and are left feeling sick. Not exactly a great plan.

Chop Chop serve your meal in a traditional chinese buffet style which means that you get each dish as it is ready so you would have got 2 plates of 8 dumplings (8 dumplings per serving) as that what was ready first!
Oh and if anyone is going to Chop Chop in the near future I have a voucher for £5 off per head* Sunday to Thursday or £3 on a Friday or Saturday, drop me a pm and I will give you the voucher number. *makes the unlimited banquet £13.05 each

Order the special kebab, around £8 I think.
It is basically a giant pile of meat, doner, chicken, spicy beef and other dead things all rolled up in a giant nan bread. It weighs a ton.
I usually get one when I am too hungover to go out for food, and it usually lasts me 2 days.
They also have munchie boxes.

definitely not great for a large group then, 20 mins for a dish and it gets eaten within 30 seconds

The Jaflong beside the Longstone Inn do the same thing. I tried it, was pretty good, but could not eat all of it.

Finished it the first time, put in a crackin effort the second time but the 3rd time the donner meat in it was a disgrace. Absolutely rotten. Never had anything from there since

To be honest I have never had to wait 20 mins, last time I went there was 15 of us and we got maybe 6-7 dishes to begin with and they followed it up with 2-3 fresh dishes every 5-10 mins. Nobody could eat another morsel by the end of the meal.
