Interesting read in the Evening news!

http://sport.stv.tv/...plinary-watch/?

Hibs are the dirtiest team followed by Hearts. Think we will get another fine at the end of the season!

Zailukas & Hamill one booking away from suspension.

It also runs through each team and player by player crime count.

After last season's whinging and crying it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Celtic have that sort of foul/booking ratio.

Looks like greeting and moaning and threatening referees works then. Unbelievable, actually its scotland, very believable.

I'd normally argue that we get booked for celebrating to our own fans, whereas Celtic players get away with celebrating to opposition fans.

Although we haven't scored enough this season for that to be our excuse, they in particular do seem to get away with murder.

Here's a league table I'd like to see, some ranking of the number of serious injuries inflicted by each team. That would be a better measure of how "dirty" a team is.

Are there stats anywhere which show the most fouled against teams and players?

This is my thoughts, stats in isolation only tell part of the story, we seem to have a hell of a lot of bookings but I generally come away from games with the feeling we have been kicked off the park. This may of course be a perception not backed up in fact, just interested to see if my perception in any way is reflected in the stats.
The telling stats, of those quoted, are the fouls per booking, taking the Utd game as an example, there were 2 bookings in that game that could easily of merited a red card for the Utd players, if these had been committed by Black rather than on him (at least one of the cards I am thinking of) I would suspect the colour would have been different.
I am not a conspiracy theorist but you do get the feeling the refereeing is sometimes done on pre conceived perceptions rather than what actually happens on the park.

So, in other words, you think referees cheat?

It's ok to say it.

Referees can easily manipulate bookings, by say allowing hearts to play on, by waving play on when we play a team he doesn't want to make any bookings against he's manipulating games & stats. watch how many times they do it with teams v celtic.

It was mentioned on the radio (BBC) recently during a Celtic game that SB rightly received a booking. This being only his second in the league but he had 2 or 3 in Europe. The commentator said that he had screwed the nut in his league games.

So no mention of the fact that in Europe they are not reffed by OF sympathisers hence the disproportionate booking per game ratio.

The fact that one team's fouls per booking ratio stands out like a sore thumb is not a coincidence.

Pretty much double that of all the other teams.

All the other teams are within a foul or two in terms of averages. Except one.

I've said it before on this matter - wouldnt like to argue about the difference between 5 and 8, thats acceptable. The gulf between Celtic and the rest though......

Celtic get the decisions week in and week out, the league will never be competitive whilst the gruesome twosome have 14 players on the park.

Has anyone got the stats on how many fouls we have commited in league matches against opposition total? I could be wrong but I do think we are out fouled most weeks.

I keep coming back to this thread and I still cannot believe those stats.

No mistake, Lennon, Lawell and the rest of the 'Celtic Community' played an absolute blinder last season.

Yea I'll go with that and usually we come out with more cards, especially against rantic

the st johnston game at tynecastle was particularly bad they did in fact kick us of the park with many fouls being "played on" No2 and No9 IMO the biggest culprits. and you do get players targeted opposition players taken turns to foul, like Blackie at fester road as just one instance. after the third foul in so many minutes the ref should have booked the hobo even though it was his first. but a targeted foul by his teamates.

I played football for years and only got booked twice and sent off once.

I don't think it's anything to do with the refs it's just that we have very stupid players in particular Black and Zaliukus.
